It’s not Friday yet. And there are plenty of 3rd gens with over 100k miles with their dashboard in tact

Currently trying to pick my next Toyota!
So you're saying the plastic in your 20 year old truck is better quality than a new one? Lol. It's a truck. The only thing that feels cheap (for my $34k pickup) is the vinyl section on the door panels and the fabric on the seats is loose in a few places. The plastic does scratch easily but doesn't look or feel cheap to me. You know what looks cheap to me in any older Toyota is all that silver plastic, even on a new 4Runner. It really dates them. If you want truly nice interior, try a Lexus. We have an RX350 too and yeah, too fancy for me!

The only I vote here is that you never ask
    "What say yee"
ever again. Not until the LARPing starts, and NEVER after it ends.

If you're feeling uneasy you gotta go out at night and treat it with some Vaseline. It will help you and your truck relax and is a nice bonding experience.

I test drove a few brands of trucks and the Toyota I decided on was no worse than the others in regards to their excessive use of plastics.

In the midsize segment it's about average. Ridgeline and Gladiators have nicer feeling interiors for sure when you take into account materials plastics etc.

Ranger, and GMs have worse interiors. I haven't checked out the new Frontier yet.

My interior is rock solid. Over 4 years of abuse, and not a single problem. Looks good too, unlike the cheeseballs 2G interior with its 80’s ‘brushed chrome’ vibe. Maybe it’s just the 2022’s. After all, 2017 was the best year ever for Tacoma, so that could be.

I am going to have my dashboard and door panels wrapped in Alcantara.
I bought a pallet of Sonax cleaner to keep it looking fresh!
