Yes, when I bought my 22TE I added the Fog Lights, but Toyota deleted it, because of DOT regulations. I still ended up installing fog lights on my own. Does not make any sense if you look at the 2024 Trailhunter which is also lifted but comes with fog lights.

No, they don't. They claim due to the factory suspension lift but eh ‍♂️

So with the 010 instead of 020 did you keep your auto headlights? I've been told to get the 010 and the 020 so I'm a little lost. Depending on the thread I read one says 020, another says 010 based on the TE.

So we don't need to buy the fog trim? The inserts on the TE will work?

If you’re talking about the pieces that cover the hole on the TE, those won’t work. You’ll still need the bezels that have a cutout for the lamp. The bezels have a slide on clip on one side and are screwed down on the other

Toyota pinching pennies. I'd love to meet the accountants who make these decisions.

“It’s because is has the lift in the front. DOT rules do not allows fog lights at that height. This is the same reason the fog lights must be removed (per Toyota’s direction) with the new OEM lift kit. It is also the reason the TRD pro only has fog lights in the lower quadrant of the bezel.”

Link to this law, but the Pro still has the fogs and regardless of the lower quadrants they are there and lifted. Dealers around here do lifts all the time and the trucks still have fogs. I gotta read and see this law. My lifted truck passes a state inspection and its never an issue.

FOG LAMPS.—Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not to exceed two fog lamps mounted on the front at a height not less than 12 inches nor more than 30 inches above the level surface upon which the vehicle stands and so aimed that when the vehicle is not loaded none of the high intensity portion of the light to the left of the center of the vehicle shall at a distance of 25 feet ahead project higher than a level of 4 inches below the level of the center of the lamp from which it comes. Lighted fog lamps meeting the above requirements may be used with lower headlamp beams as specified in s. 316.237(1)(b). This is in Florida, but my 2014 Tacoma had a 3inch lift and I never had any issues. I have seen trucks lifted higher than that with fog lights.

Seems to be state specific, makes sense why Toyota did not install to comply.
