Thanks you two. Also, has anybody installed the Diode Dynamics lights with Backlight feature?

I got the harness from @daveeasa that works with ours. The diode dynamics website was confusing. Their plug and play harness will not work with the trail edition. This is with the backlights on.

Awesome, I have the same set up as well. Couldn't have done it without Dave's help.

Hi Dave how can I order said harness?
Edit: Found your site. So far I have the OEM harness and relay from the Nitori thread and the backlight harness from DD which apparently doesn’t work. Which one should I order from you?

Do you remember if you got the two 12” or the one 60” and one 12”? I’m a little confused still. Also, do these plug into the oem harness I just purchased from Toyota or do I need additional parts from Dave?

For SR5 you're kind of up the creek a bit on choices, sorry. B/c DRL and Turn are combined, the _best_ plan is two single 12" ss3 harnesses and the backlight item linked above.

The dual output 12+60 is for TRD primarily where you have a clean DRL signal which won't flash. B/c it'd be really odd to have both your backlights flashing with L or R turn signals, I think that would confuse people. My grille light kit combines the L and R sides so it has that wire across the dash to do so, hence the extra cost.

Ok sorry to bother once more, but these two items, correct?

Picked up my black TE today. I love it. And so begins the mods. Just ordered the predator steps. I’m going to be ordering the Rigid Pro fogs, and I’ll be ordering a switch for it for the dash to the left of the steering wheel. Other mods I want to do soon is add heated seats with switches and probably LED Alpharex head lights.

Any reason you’re going with a switch vs replacing the stalk for the fogs? I was torn between the 2 initially but ended up doing the stalk as it keeps a spot open for other switches later down the line

Looks good in black, love Bronze on Black! Nice rig!

    Thank you.

Since I have two spaces for switches on the left and I don’t really plan to add any more lights (a big maybe on grill lights) I prefer it there especially since my previous trucks all had it there as well. I ordered the Clazzio Tacoma seat heaters with the switches that will take up the two blank spots on the middle of the dash. $170 for the kit wasn’t so bad.

Makes sense, that was my thinking initially! Same seat heater kit I have too, the switches fit in well, I’ve just got to get the seats apart to fit the elements!

They look pretty good with just wheels and bigger tires.

If I decided to use a dashboard switch instead of the light stalk would I have to go through firewall?

You would yeah, unless you’re willing to find the right wire and tap into the switch wire in the steering column.
