2022 TRD OR Door Handles swap (need part number confirmation)

I'm sure there are many like me who hate chrome... I am looking to delete the chrome door handles (huge eyesore in my opinion) and just want to make sure that I have the right part numbers from the parts website before I order and install them. Now the catch is that the parts website doesn't have my truck listed exactly. But I mean come on they are door handles are they not all the same across the Tacoma in each year? I assume the difference is in color only. So I found the following which I believe are black (says black SR5 trim) and meant for 2022 SR5 models.

Can anyone confirm that these will work for my 2022 TRD OR? Once again I would think they work just fine but seeing if anyone has done it before.

EDIT: I have ordered an entire chrome delete kit from AJT designs to get rid of the vent rings, the dual zone ac chrome rings, and the door handle covers. Also got the steering wheel black plastic replacements. Will update with pictures when I get it all in.

 

I replaced my 2019 TRD Sport with those part #s. Says it fits 2016-2021 so unless something changed in 22 you should be good.

 

Get these instead — save yourself a bunch of money and time. They look like you have matte black handles from the factory after you install them. Plus, if you ever sell the truck, you can just take them off and the truck is back to stock.

I waffled between the covers and the TVD decals. I've been happy with the decals. Maintained the color, I like the handles to have a little bit of contrast. Plain black just never sat right with me. There's just barely enough metallic to make it look "not plastic" but the chrome is gone.

I saw those and originally what I wanted but they are out of stock in black and no Lunar Rock Color. Cant find them anywhere else. Was even willing to pay a bit more than what they sell for if I could find them on ebay or something but no luck.

I know that guy too! Unfortunately black is out of stock and there is no Lunar Rock color to match my truck.

Ill look into them but wouldn't there be some sticky residue after peeling them off? Also I do not ever plan to get rid of my taco so not worried about going back to factory.

Hey OP. If you don’t have passenger side keyless entry, make sure to buy two driver side handles (they are reversible). That way if you want to add it later down the road, you won’t have to repurchase the handle.

I know somewhere along the way Toyota added passenger side as stock, just don’t know your situation.

 

I know a guy that has a set of Meso covers, never installed.

LOL I was thinking that perhaps I had typed up something wrong to be worried about keys and entry. But yeah inside ones. Outside ones match the truck color and look amazing!

 

I've never had 3M vinyl leave a residue. But if you're willing to go through the extra labor to swap handles with the SR part, there's certainly nothing wrong with that either. Heck, if you're pulling the door card, you could upgrade the speakers while you're at it. Make it a worthwhile trip.

Just be wary of the stupid clips and how they work if your taking the door trim off to put those handles on.

 

The Meso handle covers are out of stock, but I am seeing the AJT handle covers as in stock right now. I was just able to add them to my cart.

See those look fine to me, look pretty factory actually. Once again the only issue is meso is out of stock on them and all of the Black colored chrome delete stuff like the vent rings and AC control rings.

 

The kicker Cs series seems to be a popular choice for cheap bang-for-buck. I've just done the dash tweeters so far. Surprisingly those make a huge difference.

 

You might be a lifesaver my friend. Now just to find some pictures of them installed!

question- with the overlays, they cover front only correct? When you open the door and feel the back of the handle, do you feel where the overlay transitions to the handle itself ?
