That's how Toyota always allocates vehicles. Allocations are given to the Regions which then sub-allocate to the dealerships within their region based on sales and buying trends. Dealerships can request additional allocations on specific vehicles/builds but there are no guarantees they will get them. It makes sense that limited production types will be harder to get and would be allocated to the dealerships with better sales numbers. The dealership where I got my 2020 Pro had only one allocation for an AG Pro.

This is common right now for the C8 Corvette. $30,000 “market adjustments” are prevalent.

I ordered a '21 pro that changed to '22 pro, before being changed back to a '21 that will be here by the end of the month (building it on the 19th). My trusted friend who happens to be the inventory manager explained that Toyota is a sh*t show right now and likely won't even start building the '22 until the end of October, based on an email he received.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
Toyota is tired of hearing hollow complaints about drums on the rear, so they are discontinuing the tacoma all together.

It sounds like the dealer is pulling the oldest sales trick in the book, I am going to bet, as soon as they get a TRD OR in, they are going to try to get you to take it and give you a million reasons why it will take months and months to get a pro etc.

If I really wanted the Pro, I would put my name in the hat with a few dealers and the first one that gets it in, gets the sale. Better yet do that with multiple regions.

Anyone have any news on this? It’s still not on the Toyota website to build. All dealerships I’ve called are stating they are not sure of their allocation numbers.

My dealership told me that they were only allocated a set amount for 2022 and all were spoken for. I was on a waiting list for 2 months hoping someone would cancel their order. When an OR came in, I jumped on it, and canceled my order for the Pro.

It has been on the Canadian build site for a couple months now. I have an order in and as far as I know so do a bunch of other people here. There are even some VINs out there on sites like cars.com

I really wish that Toyota offered the TRD PRO as an access cab, so it was possible to get a longer bed!

Just for grins, I typed in the zip code for a certain place in California where most people could likely afford a marked up PRO, and it's not available on the configurator there either...
