Here you go. Center the decal, then tape it to the hood. Begin peeling the backing, then spray the adhesive side of the decal and hood with water. Rip/cut backing you just peeled then press decal on to hood. Squeegee water with a credit card or something similar. Repeat this process for the lower section of the decal, then remove protective paper. Took me about 15 minutes.

There are a few small air bubbles that should resolve with exposure to the sun.

That's pretty darn cool! I have been wanting to put a matte black decal on my sport. I just don't want to to say pro. My hood makes me snow blind cuz its white.

Thanks for taking the time so show us how you applied that. I always wondered how that was done. When I finally find one I now feel brave enough to do it myself.

Just ordered online, I use an import company in Blaine Washington that brings my purchases over the border, so I had Olathe Toyota only ship to the U.S. address.

i'm confused by your process description... what does taping the decal do? how do you remove the backside to expose the adhesive if its taped down?

I’m picking my up tomorrow just over the border here in BC, I have a few quick questions. Why spray with water. Does it just help with smoothing it out during application? Just a few light mist sprays on the decal and the truck? Cheers, yours looks great it really completes the look on the pro! I wonder why all the Canadian ones were missing them in the first place?!

Water functions as a lubricant to prevent the decal from adhering immediately (note: I use a dilute solution of Dawn in water, e.g., 1-3 drops of surfactant and Q.S. with water). This allows you/the technician to realign and smooth the decal's topography during application as needed.

@oreganoflow Applying adhesive tape holds the decal in alignment for seamless application. If you inspect @myelin's procedure, the bottom segment of the decal is fastened in place with blue tape, which permits the removal of the backing tape on the upper segment (presume it's torn off while in place). Once the upper segment is in place on the hood, you can remove the lower segment to finish the task.

    Many!
The "wet method" is definitely the way to apply decals like this. One thing to remember is there is no such thing as too much water.

Got mine from McGeorge Toyota parts in Richmond Virginia. $83 US. Had to have it shipped to a border town and go get it. Easy install - looks great! Thanks to those who provided part number and install method.

Is the Pro hood scoop painted black or is it molded from black plastic? I like the way this decal looks but I prefer it with the black scoop.
