What’s your story? I’ve seen you throughout TW and have concluded that you’re one of the brightest on here, both because of your input re. Tacomas, and your erudite clap backs.

but i would really like to know the part number if someone with a 2022 TRD PRO can provide it. these TRD UCA may be the cats meow, but im still going to buy them. aftermarket parts dont really add much value, but just look at the 1st gen TRD headers, they are very hard to install, not much gains out of them but very expense and hard to source.

That's a steep price. Is the juice worth the squeeze?

I have watched this thread quietly for a little while. With the part numbers and that price you make a good point. Is it really worth it? Did Tacoma really change the UCAs for the 2022 pro to account for life. It is allows for an extra 0.5" - 1.0" of lift over the 2022 pro... they might be worth it because they have the Toyota name. Other than that, you can get UCAs that will work for lifts for lower price or similar price. Can't wait to see what people find out and what happens when people try to use these with 2" - 2.5" lifts over base 4x4 heights.

Can one of you explain why Toyota didn’t recommend new UCAs when I lifted my ‘21 to ‘22 height using the Eibach pro upgrade springs? Makes me unconvinced these are even necessary.

Because UCA's are only needed if you extend the travel of the shock or exceed a certain amount of lift. I assume the Eibach spring replacement is a modest lift and certainly doesn't extend the shock travel.

The needle bearing and the ECGS bushing located on the driver's side of the front diff would like to have a conversation with you.

So the fox shocks on the 22 are that much different than the foxes on the 21? Lifted me up 1.3” on top of the 1” above other trims (the latter point is likely unimportant), putting me at or very close to ‘22 pro height.

Adding some photos here for anyone considering these UCA. 285s seem to rub the control arm when mounted on 0 offset wheels, which wasn’t the case with the stock UCA. Idk what Toyota was thinking when they designed these.

That’s a terribly naive thought process to have. I’m sure they spent a lot on R&D on those TRD Pro Fox shocks, but the truth is anything you can buy for the price of the TRD PRO coilovers & shocks (new) will outperform them by a long shot. It’s marketing. I agree with you on resale/trade in-value though. Those TRD arms are worth more to the dealer than Spcs, JBAs, DK, Camburgs, you name them. They will not perform as well though (in terms of the functions an aftermarket UCA is actually supposed to provide). Guarantee you that

    Your 2 cents called back:

I can bet the Toyota engineer's assignment and specs didn't cover "will these rub with 285s?"

This self-assuredness is tough to read as a scientist. What supports what you’re saying?

He could be right. However, it seems so many people on here understandably state absolutisms fueled by whatever they’ve invested in. I wouldn’t want to spend a grip of money on an upgrade, only to find out it had a nominal impact compared to OEM. Cold air intakes are probably the best, more quantifiable example.

You can add to that list exhaust upgrades and coil packs
