@TRDGUY22 You could always just go stock for a minute, while you watch the 3rd gen marketplace for a set of takeoffs.

And I guess the vin etching is a good thing to have done.

I have no problem waiting while stock. The TRD wheels were offered "at a discount" and they're just trying to take advantage.
Another dealership just offered up a white TRD sport 6' with a few options, spec sheet says ~$41K, 5K mark up, and 1-1.5K DMV fees.

I quite like the buttery smooth ride of the Bilstein's on my 2017 TRD OR. It floats right over speed bumps in the parking lot and soaks up the crappy roads/pavement very well. :notsure:

the better question to ask is, when those stock TRD OR shocks wear out, would you replace em with the same ones or you'd look into other aftermarket shocks?

I guess it depends on the type of pro wheel. I also went with the 4Runner Pros, in gloss gunmetal. $800 from a dealership I picked at random off of Parts.Toyota.com, with free shipping.

Prices fluctuate, it took me a few weeks of looking before I found a price point I was willing to pay.

Upgrade them for sure. Hopefully a set of Fox Elites from AccuTune offroad or a set from ADS soon. I noticed the Bilstein's started to loosen up after about 4-5k miles; However, my trucks only got 13k miles on it now.

What do you want out of the Tacoma? Which package?

I would not get anything from the dealer. All of their options are garbage. And they overcharge you.

the trd pro seam wheels are on Craigslist all the time. In my area, brand new rims and 265-70-17 wildpeak at3 are $1200

Yeah I have a hard time articulating it. I don't have a particular dislike towards the OR shocks. I guess I was trying to say - if they come with the truck, great. But if they were for sale as an aftermarket part (dealer upgrade), absolutely not. There are better shocks out there for what you'd pay at the parts counter.

I wanted Lunar Rock, but white was my second choice. Looks awesome with a TRD PRO grill and blackout lettering. Not sure how things are now, pretty tough getting one in March. Dozens of phone calls and emails to find a dealer that wouldn't charge the BS market adjustment. It wasn't easy.

Looks like your get taken. I would walk from that dealer just for being OBVIOUS scum bags and getting this far.

I put a security deposit on it. It's MSRP plus fairly accurate DMV, tax, and doc processing fees. They're tinting the front windows for free.

Everywhere else has a mark up or some other BS attached to it. I was looking at a OR from another dealer, they sent me the final price sheet, $1200 for "CAT". That's Corporate Activity Tax. If the corporation earns over a million in revenue they have to pay a CAT. This dealer is passing their success down to the customer. Fuck heads... just call it a dealership mark up.

I'm still considering paying for the TRD wheels, it comes out to ~70 more and I can wrap it into my bank's loan.

I also have to figure out if I'm going to trade them my 07 or try to sell it on my own. I'm thinking if they offer 8K I'll take it. What do you guys think? 280K miles, some blemishes.

If you trade in you'll only pay sales tax on the difference between the price of the new truck and what they give you for your trade in. You can do a plate transfer from your old truck to the new one to save a little bit on the registration costs too. What's KBB say your truck is worth? If they offer a fair deal sure, if not sell it yourself.

Oregon doesn't have sales tax. I'll look into transferring the plate, although there only $25 here.

Good condition is 7400 - 8500. The sale rep said "it looks like solid truck" then later said with that mileage it was bound to have mechanical issues they'd need to fix and offered 6500 based on "fair" condition. I told him "no" but he said bring it anyway and they'll see if they can make a better offer. It doesn't have mechanical issues. I'd maybe do 7500 but think I could sell it for 9500 myself. I just don't want the hassle.

Forgot about Oregon not having sales tax. Must be nice. I heard you can't pump your own gas there. Is that true?

With a plate transfer you're essentially apply a pro rated amount (x amount of months left) towards the registration costs of the new truck. I'll bet it's more than $25, but see what you paid to register your old truck to get a ballpark idea. Your new truck registration is probably $500-$600.

Agreed selling private party is a hassle, but think about how hard you work to make that $1500 or so and what you could put that towards. The dealer will likely wholesale your truck (sell at auction) and if they're already giving you a good price on the new truck I can see your point of wanting to be done with negotiations.

At the end of the deal you have to look at the truck everyday and make the payments. Make sure the deal makes sense to you.

Final invoice was about $2400 iirc for the kit itself, the labor, and the alignment.
