I’m changing the rear diff fluid today on my 2022 SPORT DCLB, automatic.
The sticker in my door jam says it is a GRN310L-PRTSHA. If I’m reading it correctly, the owners manual says that with a “non rear lock differential” it takes 3.22 quarts. 3.22 quarts is well below the fill plug.
Many online instructions say to fill it till it drips out of the fill plug.
That takes 4 quarts. Which is correct?

You can do that make sure you put it back down on the wheels off jack stands so its level first and remember that you can never get all that gear oil out of the containers so always off.

I’m not even using a jack. It’s just sitting level on the garage floor. I can easily crawl under there.

Just fill until it dribbles out of the fill plug. That's how most of us do it with no issues.

As above, I never measured how much I put in. Just bought bought enough to exceed what was listed and filled till it dribbled out. Did the same for front diff and transfer case.

Yes as others have said let it dribble from the fill plug. My transmission came from the factory one quart low of fluid. Someone at the factory definitely did not let it dribble.

Dropped mine and got 3 qts out of it. Put in close to 4 qts before it started to come back out the fill hole.

    Thanks everyone!
I had forgotten that my friends son is a certified tech at a Toyota dealership. He just confirmed that. He said he was taught in the driveline class to fill it just up to the fill plug.
