Not trying to rain on your parade but ...
They use these in commercial kitchens. Water and debris will collect in the holes. They get nasty. Requires constant cleaning.

You might want to consider that OEM and others with angled ribs direct rain and debris to the side and under the mat.
Straight ribs are easier to sweep out the back toward the tailgate.

There are several very heavy duty mats available (Amazon, ebay, etc). I believe mine is DeeZee brand. Excellent - but does not say "Tacoma" :D

I know what these are used for, I’ve been running it now nine months, and nothing collects in the holes. Maybe it requires constant cleaning in a kitchen, but it my truck it’s been maintenance free.

I have the bed mat in my 6ft bed. Have had it for a few months. All my past trucks have had one. The OEM mat is very nice, however it has one issue. Because the ribs run in a a non-lengthwise direction, any heavy cargo, like toolboxes are very difficult to slide back to front, front to back. Anything heavy gets caught on the rib lips. Ever coolers are a hassle. My previous beds mats had no ribs running lengthwise or no ribs at all. If Toyota is coming out with a new design that incorporates lengthwise ribs or no ribs I will buy one. Otherwise I will be buying an aftermarket offering.

I have the OEM mat. IMO the best mat for my needs. Nothing slides around in the bed (which is why we get them). Thick, heavy duty and should put live the truck. And best of all it says “Tacoma” on it.

    New design??
I tend to think it may be going away... just like the 3rd gen...

I'd call around and buy one in stock just in case...

I checked with my local dealer on Oct of 2023 and they were sold out, they told me the factory burned down and there were none in stock within the Toyota Parts Network, and they had no idea when they might be available again.
