KBM already announced they'll be keeping Jack Wood and Chase Purdy. I don't see them running a 3rd truck, unfortunately.

But, again, his cushion built up from his reward from consistency throughout the year allowed him to be better than 4 other drivers. Fact is, the non-playoff format would allow him to drop even fewer positions for the same performance since the discrepancy in points would be far greater at this point in the season. It was one of the things that was terrible about the systems prior to the playoff format. No reason to watch when Dale Earnhardt has the championship wrapped up with 2 races to go. Or hearing "Jimmie Johnson just has to finish 35th or better and he's the champion." Then watching him coast and Dale Jr suddenly have "engine issues" and exiting when 36 cars were running.

Arguably, this format requires you to remain MOTE consistent when it matters. MTJ has that same performance this round and he's likely not making it through.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
OMG, the 19 just went from 12th back to 2nd in the standings. This is my point!

If you survive the first cut in a golf tournament you don't get moved up to sharing the lead come Saturday. You may still have a chance, say 6 or 8 shots down, but you have to climb your way back up the leader board the old fashioned way.

Hey but they played great all year, counts for nothing in the play offs in any sport I ever grew up watching. Nascar says "we want to be like other sports."

Yes, thanks to the bonus points he has relative to others. That's my point. He's in second but not solidly in 2nd. And, again, he still did what he needed to do to survive. You act as though he has a 100 point advantage over the cutoff simply because points were reset. He doesn't.

This isn't the same sort of playoff. In other sports, teams face off against one another, 2 at a time. Someone is eliminated. NASCAR doesn't have drivers face off like that. Your point there is moot.

And yes, they do "reset." If, say, Duke comes into the NCAA basketball tournament seeded #1 and barely beats the #16 seed, they're not suddenly dropped in rank even though the #2 seed dominated the #15 seed.

I am not against the 19 or any driver in the "playoffs as they call it" I am saying the if you are gonna have a play off system then make it fair. I get it you seed a team first and they face the weakest preserved opponent for round 1. Cool, that is where the points lead etc etc come in. Soon as the ref blows the whistle and say "ready wrestle" it is game on. None of this setting the score back to 0_0 shit. Actually I would take 0-0 at the end of each stage what ever they are calling it. That would be a big improvement.

TFL had an ad for Morgan and Morgan with an opportunity to win tickets to the Las Vegas race. They're an RCR sponsor for both drivers, yet never once mentioned Austin Dillon in the ad despite mentioning Kyle Busch several times. Must be that's what KB will be running in Vegas.

I think that ends his chance to make final 8. Just hasn’t had a good playoff run

    Let’s go 45!!

Texas is not being kind to playoff drivers and I'm kind of ok with it.
