Kudos to the 1. So boring seeing the final 4 run 1-4 at these races because of the unspoken agreements.

Should he not have let the 5 go on the last restart and made it hard for the 12 to pass him,Manufacturer thing?

Maybe. I didn't actually see that restart, just the final running order and the bump incident. Although I kind of doubt it has anything to do with manufacturer, knowing Chastain.

Yeah I’m not sure either. Not sure what the manufacturer code is there, but of course my cable kept freezing up just in time for the last 30 some laps.:annoyed:

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Chevy is the least organized of any of the manufacturers. Toyota does that game best but have so few numbers its not really hard. Ford is a close 2nd and honestly rules with an iron fist on team orders. Chevy has always been a shit show for this. HMS is the king with the bowties and everyone is told to play nice but want to topple the king so end up being a determent in circumstances like these. That's why the RCR cars ran the hell out of the JRM cars on Sat and why the 1 did not cut the 5 a break on Sunday. They are not wrong but you won't see a Ford do that. You saw the 17 and every blue oval pull over for the 12 then run the hell out of the bowties. Then all the bowties run the hell out of the bowties. It is what it is but HMS will never get help from anyone on the track. The only help you might get is the driver relationship. You saw Chase pull over for the 12 a few times yesterday and I think that is okay. RB and Chase are buddies so why not.
I think the way it worked out is great for the sport. You have Kyle L, Chase and now RB all in that group with one each. Bubba with none which is how it should be. I am a Chevy fan but did not want to see the 5 get another so soon. We don't need a repeat of the whole 48 thing. With the 5 and 24 running so well that concerns me for the near future for the 9. HMS rarely has more than two cars running well. Mr. H is all in on the 5 rightfully so. Jeff G is all in on the 24, fair enough. That leaves the 9 with a dinosaur of a crew chief and playing the Dale Jr role riding around mediocre selling merch. If this continues I would not be surprised to see Chase leave HMS in a couple of years or even get out of it all together. We will see what 2024 brings I guess.
The reason I am so against this race being at the same track each year is that if one team or manufacturer finds something and gets an edge then that locks it up for them. How in the hell did the 22 run so well here last year then like shit yesterday but the 12 had the performance. It is by design. Currently this track suits the Fords. This race has to move, I mean. Think of the years that Harvick dominated this track. I get that you still have to get to this race to win it but if you have an edge then you pretty much have it wrapped up. It was good to see these cars not run 1-4 yesterday like they normally do but I am convinced that the car that wins it all would not pass tech if they actually did it. Like the year Chase won. No way that car was not illegal as hell. NASCAR just does not want the black eye so they turn a blind eye for that race to a degree. At least that is what I believe. They are there to entertain and well, when that flag falls the show is over so they pack up and go home. Prepare to do it all over again next year. That is probably why the real money is on the Manufacturer championship and not the driver. That is what the teams actually care about and what they rarely speak of.
Chevrolet won the manufacturer championship again this year with 17 wins to Fords 8 and Toyota had 10.

The #11 has a history of choking on the championship homestretch. In my lifetime:
    • 1983, Darrell Waltrip loses to Bobby Allison
    • 1986, Darrell Waltrip loses to Earnhardt
    • 1987, Terry Labonte finishes 3rd
    • 1988, Terry Labonte finishes 4th
    • 1990, Geoff Bodine finishes 3rd
    • 1992, Bill Elliott loses to Kulwicki
    • 2006, Hamlin finishes 3rd
    • 2010, Hamlin loses to Johnson
    • 2014, Hamlin finishes 3rd
    • 2020, Hamlin finishes 4th
    • 2021, Hamlin finishes 3rd

That's some rich history for the 11, which includes Hamlin! He may not be popular among many but he's a future hall of famer and has a fan in me!

Yep. I intentionally overlooked it because I was only looking at one metric: Losing the championship in the late stages of the season.
