Will Ross dump Truex for the win? 4 tires vs. 2 tires. 3 laps to go.

EDIT: Truex weekend sweep, at their home track, no less! Congrats!

I missed everything except I was able to catch the very end. How come so many cars were a lap or two down? Long runs or wrecks at inopportune times?

Glad I had to work today so I didn't have to see him win LOL.

Definitely a business decision. I imagine some people will lose their shit seeing Petty associated with Toyota, but probably not as much as if they saw RCR ever move from Chevy. I've heard rumors about Petty switching for several years now, but it just makes sense. At this point I'd argue that LMC is probably below even Kaulig in priority at Chevrolet while Toyota only has 6 cars and does a great job of collaboration between the teams, even when they had more.

As a lifelong Petty fan I'm not disappointed with the move. Petty would race any manufacturer as long as they were getting a good deal out of it and they thought they could win with it. As RedWings44 said, they were pretty low on the Chevy totem pole. I thought that bringing Johnson on board might help partner Petty GMS with Hendrick but that didn't seem to bare any fruit. The Gibbs A and B (XI23) teams are proven winners and their stuff has always been the best of the best in any division. Jones was a winner in Gibbs equipment. Gragson was a winner in Hendrick (Earnhardt Jr.) stuff. Could be a good 2024 if Toyota continues their all for one approach.

    Cheers

Petty has nothing to do w/ LMC. He sold out prior to Daytona.

He's still associated with the team though, just not from an owner standpoint.

There was a story I heard (I think it came out before anyone knew Petty had sold out) that Richard Petty was having a tough time adjusting to his new role with JJ taking over. As Eric Estep put it, Richard Petty just needs to be Richard Petty. Be a face and just exist, basically.

All the chatter is that Berry to the 4 is a done deal. Announcement by the Coke 600. Anheuser Busch was looking at Trackhouse but they like Berry.

Great move for both parties. I think Josh has earned that right and will do the 4, SHR and NASCAR proud.

Gosh, it's the first week of May, and Silly Season seeds are already sprouting. Not a lot of open seats (4, 10, 15, 19-maybe, 21, 38, 51), and even fewer decent seats (4, 10, 19-maybe).

    1- Chastain (contract through 2025)
2- Cindric (year to year contract)
    3- Dillon (contract through 2025)

4- Berry (?) Berry signed with the KHI agency. Jr & Tony have been buddy-buddy lately. Larry Mac leaked that Berry has a deal lined up next season.
    5- Larson (contract through 2026)
    6- Keselowski
    7- Lajoie? (year to year)
    8- Busch
    9- Elliott (contract through 2027)

10- ? No word on what happens with this team.
    11- Hamlin
    12- Blaney (contract through 2024)
    14- Briscoe (contract through 2026)

    15- ? Race to race
    16- Allmendinger
    17- Buescher

19- ? I think Martin is keeping this seat warm for his brother Ryan. Sammy Smith is another potential here.
    20- Bell
21- ? The word is Harrison is out at season's end. He's had one good race. A lot of people want Lajoie in this ride, and the vibe fits.
    22- Logano (contract through 2025)
    23- Wallace (contract through 2024)
    24- Byron (contract through 2025)
    31- Haley (year to year)
    34- McDowell (year to year)

38- Gilliland/Smith. If Zane brings $ the ride is his, but he also needs more experience. He's only run a handful of Xfinity races.
    41- Preece (year to year)
    42- Gragson (year to year)
    43- Jones (contract through 2024)
    45- Reddick
    47- Stenhouse (contract through 2024)
    48- Bowman (contract through 2026)

    51- ? Race to race
    54- Gibbs
    77- Dillon (year to year)
    78- McLeod (year to year)
    99- Suarez (contract through 2025)
