Just picked up my sr5 dclb from the dealer on Friday! First Tacoma, first brand new vehicle, super stoked. No complaints in 50 miles and my 2 yr old loves how much more she can see out the rear window.

    Couple of first impressions
1)Coming from a subi with cvt I know the trans is there but it’s nothing like the scary reviews I’ve read
2)I’m 6’3” and there’s just enough room for a small human behind me even with a rear facing child seat in the middle.
    3)no problem parking/maneuvering the LB

Nice truck! SR5 double cab with a long bed is unique and an awesome value for what you get.

Plenty of folks are paying MSRP and no more. Find another dealer if they are charging more.

Nice clean truck. It looks higher in the rear than normal... maybe due to headed downhill. Also, did you add those running boards? Those are the best "looking" ones and I added the same ones on my '23 but couldn't get used to how high they are in relationship to the seat height and door opening.

Thanks - washed and ready to mall crawl lol. It’s not stern high - you are correct it’s the slope. Those running boards were chosen for protection. In hind sight - due to age and hip replacement- they may not have been the best choice. I am 5’8” 30”
Inseam and it’s tough to just step in - so I use a step on running board slide in hybrid approach.

I bought them for the same ones foe the same reasons. They look great, don't hang down and provide protection from everything except rock crawling but not great for steps. I'm 5'7" and also have a 30" inseam so I can relate. I found these(pics below) and they work much better as steps but not quite as good at Predator steps(as steps). They are aluminum(which is a huge bonus) like Predator steps but these offer more protection than Predator steps. Looks is subjective.

Those look great! I am kinda tapped out for now - live in NW ON with sand salt ice snow a good part of the year. Not sure those would look very good after one winter tho..?
I know from a previous Tacoma these don’t seem to age much at all in this environment.

Ah, you'd have a hard time finding these "W Drop Step" in your area anyway since they seem to only be a Southeastern add on. But Aluminum will hold up better than polymer and steel.

Regardless.... Congrats on the new truck. She's a beauty.

23 Pro. Removed the predator steps. Now it’s how I wanted it.

Just saw this thread. Picked up my ‘23 SR5 DCSB 4x4 on July 3rd. It’s an XP package (Southeast add-on). I love the truck. It does have some lag in throttle response if you’re in a situation where you need to get on it (such as the ridiculous traffic I go through to get home). Other than that, no issues. I don’t notice much of the gear hunting I’ve read and watched videos about, even in cruise control.

I’ve done some very minor, aesthetic mods and installed Clazzio seat covers. I also added the OEM door sill protectors.

I really like that color. Online pictures don’t do it justice.
