I’ve had my ride for about a month now. Super happy with it! However, I picked up a rock chip this last weekend. Seems like the rock skipped across my hood and delivered 3 different chips. I ordered a repair kit from Dr. ColorChip. Solar Octane wasn’t available as a selection for Tacoma, but the paint code is the same for the Tundra. I’ve heard good things about this company. Fingers crossed that it’s a good match.

That type of stuff matters in our lives and I'm glad you were able to contribute that to their group. That is a really good point. I hope all is well! Cheers

Did your fenders come from the factory color matched to the body? Or did you get them painted?

    Oh look, another mod....
They were originally black, just like all the OffRoads are, but I had them painted a week after I bought it. The dealership did it and charged me $600.

Used the Dr. ColorChip kit today. It’s not a 100% fix, but it does pass the 3 foot test. I tried to take the before/after pics with the same light and distance.

I ordered my 2023 OR early oct, build date was 11/07, it arrived right after thanksgiving. I’m pretty happy with it, premium package compliments the truck. So far I’ve added the bakflip mx4 tonneau, OEM bed mat, LED bed lighting, sequential mirror turn signals, led interior, tail gate lock, and tint.

got rid of my Ranger for it, although I will say that the 4cyl turbo was snappier vs Toyotas V6

Exactly what pushed me to grab a 23 and a 6MT at that. I experienced the new "Next Gen' platform after 10 months with a 22 Tundra. Loved the room, comfort and power but didn't need it. Toyota have quite a hill to climb back up in the quality dept with the new truck. I suspect the same will be true with the next gen Tacoma although I hope they have some lessons learned with the Tundra and can get the quality issues resolved by fall. The new Taco will be updated inside with a large screen on higher tier models and will most likely come with coil rear end. LED lights all the way around and of course the turbo 4 and hybrid options. I suspect that they will most likely put in a new 8 speed tranny. Fuel economy will be 20 - 25% less if driven lightly but the turbo and new tranny? .... Give it until the mid-cycle refresh :)

Solar Octane is a sweet color. The last time I was at the dealership they had a 4R in Solar Octane on the lot, looked really good up close.

I’ve been waiting for a while for my OR, finally got word that it will be built in January and delivered to the dealership in February. This will be my first Taco. I considered and test drove the Frontier and Ranger as well, ultimately decided on the Tacoma. Glad I did.

Getting a little envious seeing everyone’s new trucks, but the wait will be over soon.
