Time compresses too. Like looking ten years in the past used to feel like a lifetime now it’s the average age of my tshirts… At work I’ll also talk about (that whatever event) like it just happened and people will have to remind me it was five years ago and most them weren’t working then. Goofy.

I’m in South Lake Tahoe till tomorrow. I was hoping to hit up an easy/snowy trail before heading back home, anybody have a recommendation? I’ll be alone and only have maxtrax with me for self recovery so emphasis on easy

With the current snow pack there are no easy snow trails. The Sierra snow pack is at 200% of normal. There is heavy snow coming in tonight and tomorrow. You’ll be lucky just to make it home tomorrow. There will be delays and probable closures on both highways 50 and 80. Finally wheeling on back country snow trails is never a good idea by yourself.

Yep. Terrible idea to snow wheel solo. Unless you are well built, have proper recovery gear and the ability to use it, and have a go bag to walk out if shit really hits the fan.

yeah. everything is a little snowed in right now. went to cisco grove and the roads were iced over.

check out this tesla that slid. the road was tilted to the right, and poor tesla just slid from the left lane, to the right. doesn't matter if you have 4wd or 2wd. tires make all the difference. (you can see the skid marks behind the honda crv.)

Had a feeling that would be the case, wishful thinking. This is the first time my truck has seen snow and I’m a little too excited about it. Coming into town took a while on Friday because of the line getting through the chain check, but I’ve been happy with how it’s handled the snow so far. I’m sure tomorrow will be a shitshow heading out of town.

I added a couple of kc cyclone lights under my roof tent for some tailgate lighting. No more cooking dinner with a headlamp!

Have yet to really drive the truck anywhere this year, but at least I knocked a project out. Next up: Extra-height full-width puppy/fridge platform.

I’m in for the Sourgrass and Corral Hollow trip if you move it to the following weekend 5/19-5/21. Not sure my rig is ready for Slick rock but Deer Valley is on my list.

Do you think the snow will be gone enough to on the higher elevations of Corral Hollow in late May? Might it end up being a tree clearing trip as well?

Not sure about the higher elevations at that point. There's a bit more snow on the ground than there has been the last few years lol.
