love my 23 trail it came with a toyota bed cover so I don’t use the cooler box but used them for tools stuff I may need out in the woods but don’t use a lot it’s nice when you need what ever and Bam it’s in a side box !

I just wish we could configure them as we see fit. I'd love to have a trail but add the led headlights and foglights. Or and off road with the lift already installed. To me mts and cc aren't what sold me but ya never k ow might come in handy one day. I also prefer the darker headliner in the off road. I also don't understand why the trail has such a price premium over a base off road.

I love the black headliner and LED headlight/fog light option on the OffRoad but I didn't want all the extra stuff it came with. Plus, finding a Lunar Rock OffRoad without the TRD Premium package was extremely difficult where I am. I wanted black cloth interior and no sunroof.

Since the Trail came in Lunar Rock, had black seats and no sunroof, plus 4x4 w/ a rear locker sealed the deal for me.

Oh yea. All the dress up stuff was the icing on the cake. Wheels, grille, mild lift/level all sold me too. Saved me from having to do any of that work myself. Although, I did slap on a new set of wheels/tires to make it my own.

My trail was pre-wired so there is another thread or link to that thread that is in this write-up here (in the linked thread) that has instructions for a pre-wired vehicle.

I just purchased, read up on both, and went with the trd off road.
    1. I don't like the bronze on the trail.
    2. Easier to find a manual in the trd off road, but still not easy.
    3. I got 1500 under on my manual off road which I couldn't pass on.
    4. I could have toyota add the lift and warranty it to equal the trail edition, not that I will. I'm 49 and old now, and I'm not wheeling this truck, it's new lol
    5. I always liked my trd off road tundra ride. So that also swayed me. Side note, the tacoma is nothing like my 07 tundra obviously lol.

I dont know why but the Canadian trail edition seems better outfitted from the dealer. We dont get the bed boxes or technology package ( manual rear sliding window and no backup sensors ) but we do get heated seats, predator sidesteps, roof rack, TRD shift Knob for 2023. also keyless entry and push button start. Less color choice in Canada. MGM, or Lunar rock.

I got my trail edition this past August in lunar rock. I completely agree with you on all of this, the Canadian edition is better. The only things I would have changed are the trial edition getting the headlights like the TRD Pro and some fog lights because the front end it literally the same on all the Tacomas (I believe). Regardless of all of this, I love it and it looks absolutely wicked with the grill, rims and steps.

I also only wish they came with fog lights and upgraded headlights, but Im willing to do that myself at a later time. They sure drive great too! Love my TE!
