Had this happen a few times now and its a little concerning.
With adaptive cruise on, when a vehicle ahead of me in my lane switches lanes to the left and slows down (like to make a left turn at a light), my PCS will activate and brake even though the vehicle ahead has completely crossed into the left turn lane.

    And it brakes HARD.

Seriously concerned I'm going to get rear ended because of it.

So the question- does the PCS interact with the Lane departure camera to know when the lane is clear? Or does the radar just put out a cone of detection and anything in that cone triggers the brakes?

Is it possible the radar is mis aligned slightly to the left (this doesn't seem to happen with vehicles in the right hand lane slowing down)

Anything I can check before I try and get the dealer involved?

    Thanks in advance!

That is not PCS. It's adaptive cruise, which has a wide cone of detection (that biases a bit with steering angle to work on curved roads). Don't use adaptive cruise if you have cars crossing in front of you to make left turns.

PCS braking is maximum braking power, you'll hear the tires skidding a bit with a "BRAKE!" message in the little gauge cluster screen. You'll know it when it activates.

Adaptive cruise is best used on freeways in less-sparse traffic. It reacts to cars in other lanes on curves and maybe even the occasional mosquito 2 miles ahead. Hold the cruise button in for a couple of seconds to use non-adaptive cruise. In stop and go traffic is it in my opinion a hazard.
