Well KBB seems wierd. I priced a new 2023 with the same options as my 2022 and MSRP is less than I paid (2022 MSRP), but the trade-in value on my truck is more than I paid.

Will be morphing it into my semi retired work truck
Just a clarification on the 2k price increase I claimed in my original post . It is the difference in what I paid December 16 on a 2023 SR5 and what you price out now for MSRP on the same truck on Toyotas site . Both are prices all fees in before tax . Not last years MSRP with fewer inclusions vs current MSRP .

Maybe I got a better deal than I thought .

Hello, I am not sure if this is correct discussion for this post or not.

I built out my TRD OR at the dealer and received a quote with the price, options and packages. The dealer called 5 months later (last week) and said the truck is being built but I had some options removed from the quote and others added in. This large Toyota dealer is telling me this is normal and basically nothing I can do about it due to the allocation allotments they get and what Toyota is currently building... Thoughts?

    Very frustrating…

this is true, you don't get to build exactly what you want, rather you are telling them what you'd like to have, and they are supposed to be finding the closest match. Now it's up to you to research and make sure they are finding what's right for you, and not them. Of course you are also weight your options, or lack thereof, and making trade offs.

Thanks for the quick reply and confirmation!

The dealer also told me that it made it more difficult in getting the options I asked for due to it being a LB. It didn't help that the salesperson said I could add some of the items I requested in only to find out he was wrong when it was finally being built out.

At least it is finally coming after waiting so long.

I just found my exact truck online at the dealer I bought mine at 1 year ago last week. Exact same truck, just 2023 now and ya’ll are right. It’s $2,300 more for the exact same thing.
CRAZY! And rates are higher now too!

    2nd post!
Been a lurker for some time, I have a 2006 sport double cab long bed that has been a great truck, pushing 200K on it. My boy went off to college this last fall and needed a 4x4, so we agreed as long as he stays in school and maintains the grades he can use the truck. I've been looking since last fall for a used one and couldn't digest the prices I've seen. So... I finally, yesterday put a deposit down on a 2023 TRD double cab 6' bed, MSRP $39,515 and with the added packages listing price was $42,363. Dealing with a fairly large dealership that has a reputation of being right around MSRP we agreed on a price of $40,800 + taxes etc.. which are around $600 or so.

This is in Oregon and I think (help me feel better guys) is a decent deal!

This isn't really a new thing, it's been going on for quite a few years. I paid $33,800 for a TRD OR access cab in September 2019. I believe MSRP was $37K or 38K. Originally was going to wait for the 2020's but they were around $41K.
    It's now like a $48K truck. Glad I bought when I did.

With a superior payload, bigger freight box, and dynamic power directing, there's an entire ton of High Lifter fans that say the Can-Am wins this one. Simultaneously, the Polaris Ranger with its Polaris Accessories has been a staple vehicle for thousands — for quite a long time.
