Has anyone with 2022 or 2023 tacoma with qi charger notice any bubbling on the rubber? I know that there was a TSB for 2016 to 2021 for the bubbling issue. Just wanted to see if any 2022 or 2023 are affected. Thanks!

My 2023 is fine but I’ve only used it maybe two times. Apple CarPlay is wired so I just connect mine via usb and no worries about the QI Charger bubbling and the usb charging is faster.

Maybe Im just paranoid haha. But there seems to be small bumps where its suppose to flat. Im not sure if thats just how the rubber is moulded or how it sits flush with the pad. It seems a little hard doesnt seem to go down when pressed.

This has been an issue with them since they started putting them on these trucks.

In short, the pad always has power going to it even when the switch is toggled on, so the pad is always warm and it warps the rubber. I disconnected mine since it was never powerful enough to charge my phone anyway, but the dealer will replace this. There is a TSB for it and they should be very familiar with changing them. There used to be better aftermarket pnp options but they are long gone.

Re: your pic in post 6 - that's flatter than mine was when I picked my truck up with 2 miles on it.

I remember the tsb was fron 2016-2021 as they had changed the 'part number' on the remedy. Id expect them to hopefully use the revised part as its the last year of the production.

Did you end up having it replaced at the end?

mine never bubbled, tried it once, many people have had same issues, i would get it replaced under warranty and dont use it, there is also a replacement cubby hole for that spot that some people install there

Mine has never been used, nor turned on, and it looks the same as yours.
Take a good look in, around, and under your truck, and I'll bet you'll find something else to worry about.

Nope I disabled it and fixed it myself, then repurposed the button to control my footwell lighting. I don't like other people poking around in my vehicles if I can avoid it, but Toyota will take care of this if you're still under warranty.

If you're worried about it, get it replaced and then unplug it so it always stays flat. It's an awful charger anyway.

There's nothing wrong with the OP's charging mat. Why would the dealer replace it?

I don't think there is either, that's why I said IF he's worried about it. It's much flatter than mine ever was.

This thread doesn't really need to exist IMO, OP doesn't have an issue, but not my truck, so he can be upset about whatever he wants with his.
