    No.

To see if your truck is pre-wired for one, remove the driver's kick panel and look for a white plug tucked away in the back left.

Not my photo. Copied from another post.

If you have the tow package, you should have a receiver hitch, a trailer plug in the rear bumper and an oil cooler under the hood.

Ok thanks guys. I have the tow package with hitch and trailer plug. I didn't verify the oil cooler and controller wiring. I'll check. If I have the wiring is it just plug and play? Sorry I know nothing about this so thanks for any help

Yes, I just purchased a Redarc brake controller and I had installed in about an hour. I made a custom bracket to mount the control box to the steering column support. So most of the time was doing that. The rest was plug and play.

For plug and play, you will need to purchase the adapter harness from the controller to the factory controller plug.

This is just an example of a harness from Curt from their controller. Each controller manufacturer should have their own...

RedArc is the best way to go in my opinion. The install is clean and looks custom. They sell the harness and button blanks to fit our switch blanks.
    I got the TowPow Liberty.

You will find that nothing fits a 2023 for a while... then sites will get updated. They can be a couple years behind.

I recommend the Redarc as well. It is a little more money but doesn't need a huge space on or under the dash. This is all the space it takes...

    2021 SR5 wired for 4 and 6 pin connections.
Plugged my controller into the 12-volt-port ( cig lighter ), connected my teardrop to the 6-pin connection, everything fired right up.

I have an old school Tekonsha 902502 Prodigy setup.

Yep that's really a nice looking install. Mine is in one of the blank spots to the left of the steering wheel. It's not difficult to set up how you like it. I put mine where it is because I'm a Lefty, it made sense to me.

I had a Tekonsha Primus IQ in my old Jeep Liberty CRD that I was looking at moving over to the truck. I just couldn't find a good place to mount it that I would not bang a knee on it. Then I seen Redarc tow pro here. I decided to order it and left that Tekonsha go with the Jeep when I sold it. I think the Redarc does as well as or better than the Tekonsha Primus IQ.

Another question is my truck has a 4 pin connector mounted in rear bumper. Looks like that won't work with trailer brakes?

If you have a v6 the standard tow package should have both the 4 and 7 pin connectors on the rear bumper. If your trailer only has a 4 pin then it probably doesn't have electric brakes controlled by the trucks brakes. 4 pin is only usually just the brake lights, running lights and turn signals.

Ok so I checked and I do have both 4 & 7 pin. Guess I'm good to go. I'll check for the plug behind the kick panel. Thanks

Beware sometimes guys have a hard time finding the plug. It's usually tucked up in there good.

You will need to remove the kick panel in the drivers side foot well to the left. There a black plastic nut and a clip that holds it in place.

Mine was really long for some reason and was routed over to the wire bundle for the steering column. Don’t know why it just was. I looked under the kick panel forever.
