To all... Thank you in advance! I haven't found anything specific on this so here it goes... First off, I've searched all over the internet and can't find it. I'm looking for a wiring diagram for my radio... (which wires are which) it's a Toyota-Pioneer AVH-3598ZT. I have 2 speakers I'd like to add in the back, to my system, also another AMP to drive them and maybe another. I know of an LOC to get low level signal. Any help is appreciated! And if you need more information, please let me know.

you're looking in the wrong place!

the jbl system uses a proprietary data signal from the head unit to the amp behind the seats. to add anything, you need to come off the amp behind the seats instead.

@soundman98 Thank you! I've read something about that too! Do you know of a wiring diagram for the wiring going in and out of the amp then? Or is there a harness for it to purchase?

unfortunately, i don't. i dug around a little, and can't seem to locate any info on a compatible harness for the amp. i think your only option is to cut/splice into the wires coming out of the amp. but be warned, they're not a full range signal-- the amp filters and directs specific frequencies to specific speakers as part of the amplifier/speaker package.

overall, adding speakers to the jbl system is just a bad idea. it's too 'smart' for it's own good!

I just upgraded the JBL system you need to add a device like the Rockford Fosgate DSR1 and vehicle specific wiring harness or a PAC Pro. This converts the Datalink signal to low level input so you can install an amp to power the speakers. Unfortunately this is an expensive path. 300-350 just for the DSR1 and 50 for the vehicle specific wiring harness. I went to a 5 channel Rockford fosgate amp, all kicker speakers, Skar Audio tacoma specific box with a cheap MB quartz 10 inch sub. I did have to find the plastic from a non JBL truck for the rear wall for the sub, but I found that on EBAY relitively in expensive. I'm guessing I have about 2200 into the entire thing.

how is the dsr 1 holding up, do you get all your chimes and tones through the speakers. I am upgrading the JBL as well. Also, did it keep the Toyota sos feature.

A $25, two-day subscription to TIS allows access to both black and white electrical wiring diagrams (EWD) and interactive color wiring diagrams. The color version allows you to drill down to see connectors, part numbers and even terminals. Mechanical and electrical information is extensive and comprehensive. If you dedicate a weekend to the task, you can download most of what you will ever need. Attached is an example of the B&W EWD for the 3rd gen audio system with separate amplifier.
Download of the color is good but does not do justice to the on-line version.
Good luck. Let us know how you do with your project.
