From what people are saying on the Tundra reviews, yes. Flat orange.

Weird. They did the same thing with the C8 Corvette. The first orange they came out with was a cool metal flake orange. Now they have a brighter flat orange. Inferno is so much better in my opinion.

    Thanks for the info.

@Carmaker1 Do you know the exact date that 2023's can start being ordered? I'm getting ready to order a 2022 but if its only a few week wait to order a 2023 then maybe I'll go that route as I'm not in a huge rush. Appreciate the info...

Toyota has zero problems selling automatic Tacomas, I wouldn't be surprised if there is no manual transmission available. Ford, GM, and Nissan currently have no manual option. Ram's midsize probably won't have a manual.

Hilux, will probably have a manual option overseas to go with the diesel option.

The only manual option in NA will Jepp Gladiator, which does not compete in the midsize truck market, it's a oneoff vehicle that has no significant impact on the segment. Jeep Wrangler, and Ford Bronco.

All midsize platforms for NA look like they will be turbo automatics.

My goal to get the best representation / most refined version of a Tacoma generation in a manual transmission is soon to be achieved with my inbound 2022.

Doesn't look like I pulled the trigger too soon or too late.

Now I can wait til the end of the 4th Generation to see if or when I want to buy one of those.

Could be 100% EV by end of 4th gen run.

ONLY if the 4th gen runs for 50 years.

The overall United States electricity generation and transmission will need a massive overhaul (and almost certainly many new nuclear power plants) before this becomes a reality.

They do want 70 models EV by 2025, new and existing, and 100% EV global by 2050.

Those of us that live or venture beyond civilization are going to need the equivalent of an emergency "Can Of Electricity" for when the battery level gets past that point of no return.

Solar regenerative body surfaces or a "Mr Fusion" ( see also Back To The Future) to make power from anything will need to be implemented for life beyond the grid.

I'm thinking by 2050 batteries will hold enough charge for 1000 plus miles. BUt Rivian has done 8 hours of trail riding on a full charge.

    So. Many. Stickers.
If lithium sulfur has any promise, we should see batteries doing that here in the next 5 years. At which point, I will be more open to the idea of wider spread EV adoption.

I recall an article about someone who made a silicone type battery. Can't seem to find the article. But new battery chemistries are coming to reduce or maybe eliminate the need for minerals like Lithium and cobalt.

I agree completely that there is a lot of investment in auto battery technology. Battery technology will be hugely improved by 2050.
The gigantic missing piece of the EV puzzle is where will this electricity be generated to charge these batteries?

Andre at TFL truck just happened to be where two 4th gen test miles were parked.

obviously, Toyota marketing wanted them to be seen, and by larger channel like TFL.

the 4th gen is coming soon. They already started the hype machine.

N2 designs has a remote start option. I have it in mine and use it on occasion. I *think* there’s an option of putting the fob up against or near the pts button and holding the pts down for an extended time to bypass the brake requirement. Can’t help you with old school, I’m in that boat on occasion too.
