I am one of the few who don't care too much about creature comfort or aesthetics, but rather mechanical/technological performance updates. I am hoping the 4th Gen Tacoma delivers on that end...

Not sure why they left the chrome grille surround on the SR5 SX.

I always say this but put the pro halogen headlights (2019-) on the current Tacomas.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the biggest "upgrades" in the ev world would be making battery pack upgrades for existing late model vehicles... e.g. a 4-5th gen 2035 Tacoma on whether lithium is in at the time with a 300 mi range getting a boosted battery pack and charger upgrade kit for $6000 in 2050 that's good for 2000 mi and 15 min charges as opposed to buying a new vehicle.

Progress is coming, it is inevitable, but in the meantime, give me my damn yellower than the equatorial sun, manual, mini truckwith more sparkle than a bass fishing boat! :D

The problem with a 2k mile battery that will charge in 15 minutes is the current or voltage needed to do this feat would be extremely dangerous. The battery would need to be 5-7 times the capacity of current packs. That is a tremendous amount of electricity. You can’t cheat physics.

More; considering gasoline isn't very volatile when contained.

Way more. I’ve been an electrician for 30 years, a master electrician in multiple states, and the amount of power required to recharge a 700kw battery in 15 minutes is roughly 5000 amps at 480 volts. 50 amps at 48,000 volts. Either way, I wouldn’t want to be around it.

I think the keyed ignitions are also not susceptible to the current trend of theft in which you clone the key fob to unlock and drive away the truck.

[Fictional Toyota Rep] "New for 202X 4th Generation Tacoma--Now will include In-Dash Keurig Coffee Brewer! It collects and filters the water condensation from the AC compressor and reuses it to fill up the Keurig water reservoir!!!"
