That is an artist's rendering not an official release from Toyota, tho it could actually quite close to reality since cars are designed long b4 we get to see them in the flesh

All I’m hoping is for is that TOYOTA will follow Ford’s lead and build both, an electric and conventional models, with the built in generator option.

But not matter what, all TOYOTA has to do is build it, and they will buy.

Yes that is a rendering, and it's very close to the camouflaged mystery vehicle from the TFL post. The current style Hilux wheels look as if the track is wider than you would find on a production Toyota. The grill looks similar to the tset vehicle, and the headlamps look the same with three lighting elements. All the leaked Tundra images show dual element lights.

The camouflage truck could be anything, and the render based off that photo.

The pic at top is the 2022, not the same as on the OP first post. I think

Toyota needs to build a truck that drives like a Ford Ranger but with the performance of the 2.7 ecoboost.

I could see Toyota possibly getting into the mini truck category to compete with the Maverick and Santa Cruz, could be built of the Rav4.

For every generation of Tacoma there's been those that say ugly, but still have a deposit on one. With the way social media works, it doesn't matter how ugly one thinks a vehicle looks. Just build it. followers buy.

That would be like a scaled down Ridgeline. Which might not be a bad vehicle. I'd prefer a body on frame part time 4wd/Rwd compact truck. Toyota still has to get the 4th gen Tundra, and Tacoma to production, I don't think they will be building any other truck platforms before that happens.

Who knows how long it will take Ford to get the Maverick to production? Probably not as soon as they would like.

I’m calling it here and now, the 4th gen Tacoma won’t be offered with a V6 but a optional i4 turbo and a smaller displacement i4 for the base

I will forgive Toyota as long as they retain the 6mt

I like to believe they wouldn’t, but with something like only 5% of their Tacoma sales being manual (according to autoblog) I wouldn’t be suprised they drop the manual for the gen4

Good opportunity for Toyota to combine the Hylux and Tacoma into single truck similar to how Ford handled the Rnager

This. That's what the whole TNGA program is about. I'd argue Ford took a page from Toyota on the Ranger.

I think it's low hanging fruit for Toyota to keep the 6MT. IIRC something like 80% of vehicles sold overseas are MT. Easy way to keep the enthusiasts happy and probably works well with the kaizen approach to manufacturing since there would be an extra market for any foreign overstock.

It would make sense if the Hilux/Tacoma become the same in the next gen that as a global truck the 6mt might not die:fingerscrossed:
