My previous auto Tacoma did that when it was new .over time it got better but it still wasn’t enough so I went to a manual .couldn’t be happier after the switch . Or try the tune see if that makes a difference for you . Best of luck .

Overland Torque Tune. The smoothiest tune available, in my opinion. My tuner let me try KDMax also. Liked the ott better.

Bell Road Toyota - Lithia Motors...
Was passing through and decided to stop in and see if they could check the Transmission Fluid since the truck has 1000 miles on it.
Toyota Service Tech says, "It's a sealed system and the only way to check the transmission fluid is to do a flush and fill."
I assured him that you have a special wrench for the special nut and then you fill it up. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeazey.
He says well all they know how to do is a flush and fill.
I ask him, do you really want to do all of that for free since I just wanted a fluid level check on a brand new truck with 1,000 miles on it? A detail that should not have been missed at make ready?
TST tells me it won't be free.
I tell him I have the 10 year 100,000 mile warranty if he wants to go that route.
TST tells me that warranty doesn't cover transmission flush before the scheduled interval.
I ask him if he really believes it needs a transmission flush and he can't top it off.
He assures me there's no way to do it otherwise or he would.
I ask him if every Tali driving a white Tacoma / Hi-Lux across AFG is stopping in and getting a transmission flushed or just checking the fluid.
    He declined to answer.

Seriously... What gives? I thought only Ford treated their customers like this.

Also, you don't have to jump the OBD-II port on 2020+ models. Just go through the gear selection to get the truck in temp check mode.

I was glad I didn't have to do that part because it made me feel like I was going to be doing something I shouldn't be doing.

I just want to "top it off" and make sure the fluid level is right.

The process is simple. Add a 1/2 quart to quart of atf. Put the truck in temp check mode. It will tell you when the transmission is at the correct temperature. Remove the check plug with the truck running until you have a light trickle.

Don't just add fluid without going through the correct procedure.

How did you figure out you didn’t have to jump the port 2020+ models? Just curious I have a 2023.

Someone said you didn't need to. So I went out and tried it without jumping those ports and it worked.

my truck doesn't stutter anymore when I use ethanol-free fuel. stutter comes back after filling up with 10% ethanol fuel.

I think you were the one who mentioned premium fuel. That is what REALLY solved it for me, I forgot what the shudder even feels like lol. I'm sure ott helped a lot too.

yea, more octane helps too. i always regret filling up with 87. it's especially noticeable in the 2.7. we have 89 and 93 ethanol-free around here. runs better on 93.
