    Hi Everyone,

Has anyone had any experience on towing a small, enclosed work trailer with their Tacoma?
Good, Great, ok..... Feed back would be appreciated. I'm debating on purchasing a small, enclosed trailer for weekend jobs and in the future possible dirt bikes for my son.

    Thanks

    Brian

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
So many factors enter into answering this question.

    Define your small trailer?

Within a local area close to home? Hit the road hundreds of miles to do a weekend job and return home.

Given these size dimensions, I would say you will be in good shape, unless you may end up with thousands of pounds weight in the trailer. That small and you should have absolutely no degraded Tacoma performance due to wind resistance. Obviously you will take a hit fuel economy wise, but my guess would be 3 - 4 MPG hit with such a trailer and say 2000 - 3000 pounds total trailer/load weight.

You'll be completely fine. Sure the Tacoma isn't a tow vehicle, neither is a 3 series or a golf but they will do it alright with a properly weight distributed trailer. Its kind of expensive but you could get one of those kendon trailer which tows really nice and can dual function as a utility trailer or a 5x8 enclosed doesn't weigh a whole lot . At some track days i've seen guys with the gen 3 towing dual axle trailers with two-three bikes in them. It will do it, is it happy? Probably not.

IMO, it's a little disheartening how terrible of an experience towing with the Tacoma is. I've towed a few times with it and each time I swear it'll be the last time I ever towed with my truck. Otherwise, it's perfect.
