2023 tailgate replacement

Got my tailgate stolen a week after I brought it home. dontvwabt to buy a stolen one off Facebook. Found a shop near me but when I saw the plug it was a 4 pin plug. The plug I see is a 5 pin oval. Am I seeing the wrong thing? I really need sone help making my baby whole again.
In attached photo, tge gray oval is where I think tailgate should plug at. Am I looking at tge wrong thing? the tailgate the parts guy has is a 4 pin female white square.

Stupid question, does your new replacement tailgate have keyless entry wiring and/or a camera?

 

I’d probably call insurance and let them replace with the correct one and painted to match on such a new truck.

Yeah I didn’t have insurance when I bought it. So I just been on tge look out.,

 

What I’m looking for at this point is seeing what tge correct connector for a 2023 Tacoma with a camera looks like.

Long story but yeah I had a DUI and it took awhile to get it fully covered

Sorry this happened OP. like others posted, tailgate locks for the hinges are a good preventative measure such as the sabellco one. I just keep my tailgate locked 24/7 to prevent the theft. Good luck with the replacement!

 

Damn, sorry bud, this hits home. In the last month, there have been over 50 cat thefts in the town I work in. 5 have been in the hospital parking lot (with cameras) where I work. The latest from a couple of days ago they took a tailgate as well. I already put a cat shield on and just ordered a tailgate lock yesterday. Sucks but these things are essential items in today's world.

 

this is perfect! i was planning on cutting/welding/filling the area, just replacing the skin is so much easier!

i know i drive a tacoma. i don't need it emblazoned all over the truck!
