As a dealer tech, guys if you have warranty, don't clear the codes. Don't disconnect the battery. Then book it in for CEL.

If its not a permanent code you're just wasting everyone's time.

Let the light stay on and book it in. Dont clear it.

Sometimes connecting cheap scanners will blow the code out by accident. The Innova is as cheap as I'd go.

I didn't clear the codes, couldn't get my reader to link to truck. I thought about disconnecting battery but wanted the code first. So that was a no. Some symptoms found online with the code- starting issues- won't start- rough idle (I've had that since I brought it home- dealer said normal, crappy gas)- poor gas mileage (I'm lucky to average 14 since new).
I found a video that shows where the 4 sensors are located, the one throwing the code is under the intake cover between intake runners. I checked all the plugs on the bank A sensors- they look brand new- all 4 do, no damage observed. No little footprints in the dust on intake. I checked all the other plugs around the top of engine- no damage anywhere. I suck at modern electronics (give me a carbed drag car anyway) so I will let the dealer try & screw me.

If it ran poor from day one, this may be a nice fix. Keep us posted.

Well you have a code and a warranty. I would take it in for the fix. It would likely remedy your rough idle too

I did recently purchase a locking gas cap. At end of 2nd tank fill the check engine light went on. I put the ild one back on but so far no change.

Will take it to the dealership tomorrow.

Stop toying around in there, you are at under 3k miles, you're still WELL within your warranty window, bring it to Toyota, tell them "Here's the code, fix". Walk away and let them fix. You toying around in there is not covered under warranty, if you mess something up more, you're going to be on the hook. That's no bueno.

PS rough idle can be normal, mine comes and goes, depends on lord knows what. Weather, gas, if I farted too loud getting into it.

Who's toying around? All I did was get the code & do a visual.

Took truck in. Diagnosis was a bad sensor plug. They replace the sensor, plug & pins. Warranty covered the job.

FYI: took my truck in today. Issue was the evaporative system…so it was the bad locking gas cap. They simply cleared the code. The BSM (blind spot monitor) not working was caused by the new Head Unit. Need to sort that out. They did not charge me this time but told me that it could have been a $400 diagnostic charge because both issues were result of pilot error.
