Thats a great video. exactly what i am trying to learn more about.. the stock rim on the TRD sport says it 30mm offset. After watching the video I think the zero offset instead of a -10 offset rim of a wheel thats 1 inch wider would be better for 275s on my set up, if it'll clear the UCA.. I sure hope its possible to mount the 5100's on top knotch(2") and a 1" block in the the back to mount 275/70r17's on 17x8.5 wheels(0ffset) vs the stock 265/65/17 on 17x17.5's without any rubbing except the rear mud flaps, which are coming off anyway.

I really would rather put a 275 over a 265 on this truck.

Apparently it will rub, that video suggested explains things a bit more. If you draw a center point on a piece of paper (as if it were ball joints or a king pin) and then draw some parallel lines next to it simulating the tire, and then rotate those lines, you can see how ever 1/2" of offset effects how close the tread comes to the fender well. Not just to clear the caliper, that's job #1 that has to be satisfied; but beyond that, when turned at extremes the tire has a shorter or longer distance to the inner fender well and mudflap depending on the offset.

EDIT - Looks like you watched it 1 minute before I replied, lol...

Glad the videos helped. Between your two choices, that would make sense. I only speak for myself, with my 4mm offset 4Runner wheels. My buddy got the same ones I have in the dark gray with the Falken 275s and also doesn’t have an issue. It comes down to personal choice in wheels obviously and what you are willing to do to make what you want fit. I was fortunate, all I wanted was the TRD wheels so it was an easy choice for me. After having a Toyota for so long, I’m deff one of those fangirls who goes OEM or death on parts lol, but to each their own.
