2023 TRDOR has auto trans oil cooler with auto trans?

The e-brochure for the 2023 lists the auto tans oil cooler as standard equipment on the TRDOR unless it has a manual trans. I thought I was reading some Tacomas did not have the auto trans cooler starting in 2020. I am just trying to confirm this. Is this correct? My 2016 TRDOR with auto trans came with the auto trans cooler and just wondering the 2023s are equipped the same way. Thanks

 

My 2019 has the cooler in front of the condenser. I have not seen it on any 2020+ Tacoma.

 

Typical auto transmissions use the radiator as a cooler. Some people add an extra external cooler. Some Tacomas come with a factory external cooler (with the towing package). YMMV

 

Yes, thought it was gone in 2020. Haven't seen a 2023, so don't know if they brought it back.

Yes, looks like the brought back the ATF cooler. Wonder why? Maybe some warranty issues by removing it?

 

My 2022 TRDOR also has a trans cooler in front of the condenser. Not complaining!

 

There is still no external cooler. Only the radiator exchanger.

If your truck has the towing package, it will have trans cooler built into the radiator. Not external anymore, internal and it works fine.

Found this pic, this is the old external cooler. It ran in series with the rad cooler.

Early 2020 V6/Auto models had the separate trans cooler (mine does).
Not sure when Toyota went away from the external cooler but I believe it was sometime in the 2020 model year.
