I see Toyota is now promoting and advertising out 48 month leases now to lower the payments. Never seen that before. I've seen them advertise 24/36 for 30 years. This is probably the worse time in history to buy a car much like a house. Prices still high and rates thru the roof. If you have a trade they'll offer you about 20% less than 6 weeks ago but still want msrp plus on theirs. 0% financing coming to a dealer near you soon I'd wait.

Word is come Spring, the insane used car bubble will not only decidedly burst but prices may plummet... this stupid a** banana republic style money printing invoice is due. By 2 yrs from now, it will be in full effect. Another "duh" moment for this nation.

Agree with you about the stupidity of printing money. But low supply may keep prices up. There's very little available. And only a few nerds like us on this forum obsessing over this stuff. Supply chain is real...

No Kidding. I was at my dealer to get a bed mat for my new tacoma off road. I was looking in the window of a Supra. The rep said I'll get the key so you can get in. The back of my head hit the top of the window sill. It took me quite a while to figure out how to get in and I'm only 5' 8". No thanks. I'll stick with my old Vette. By the way only one tacoma in stock and a couple of Tundras.

Ha! True. Seen too many "college girls on the street Q and A's." Scary.
If we don't learn to divest from China supply line by now, God help us.

I’ve seen a few of those and tell myself, “surely those are staged”. But heck, maybe not. People these days seem to wear ignorance like a badge of honor… like ‘not giving in to the system’ or something. A growing part of me wishes I were 15 years further into my life so I could just sit on my porch and watch the world go by and tell the kids to get off my lawn.

Spot on here. I've tried several local Toyota dealers to trade up and not much of anything inbound or in stock. I offered my 2017 as trade plus a check for the difference for a new one (not financing a car in this economy) and was given several kick in the nuts lowball trade in offers while being told I'd need to wait 2-3 months for the new truck.:rofl:

Nothing new worth while in stock at Porsche or Ford either. Well, unless you count the left over 2022 Ford Raptor's with 20k markups.

CORRECT. I call it, "intentional ignorance". Real answers to Q's like, "Who did we fight in WW2" "Uhh, France?" "When was the Civil War?" "Umm, the 1950's?"
As a kid they told us it's ALL about education - meaning the "ignorant" merely lacked access (libraries did exist then)... okay, fine.... now morons walk around w/ the world's knowledge in their pocket (smart phone), and they only care about the Kardashian sisters and Tik Tok.

I'd buy a new Raptor for MSRP if that model was under 90k at 2.9%. Not like it's a good deal, but WTH.

I was young but still aware... it all so smacks of the "both ends" spectrum of the glorious 70's era (you talk about tight parents - many born just post depression - they spent money like it was throwing around manhole covers - all we heard was "No, we can't afford that", if we dared ask. People did not believe in credit card debt then like now). Here we are again... draw you own direct line conclusion.

That's really useless information unless you are proving to Jeff Foxworthy that you are smarter than a 5th grader.

It's good to beware of histroy, but I doubt if anyone outside of the US is concerned with American History, but they probably know the answers to those questions.

Toyota must really be patting themselves on the back having released an exceedingly complicated turbo powered full-size pick up truck costing up to $90,000 at a time when people don’t have enough money to pay the rent and are defaulting on their car loans.

but it has that cool blue ambient lighting on the dash and door panels. It does look cool!

For $1,10,000 you can get a F-350 DRW Platinum which is still an exuberant price for a truck, but you can pull a 5th wheel travel trailer with it.

If things were that bad for the target demographic of the tundra they would be rotting on lots … yet none to be found

A lot of the same parts, but I prefer the new Sequoia over the new Tundra.

That’s cool, I’m guessing they’re very proud to sell most of the ones they make, and firmly establish their place as the second worst selling full-size pick up in the US after the Titan. Do they still even make that?

Titan KingCab S 4x4 5.6 V8 MSRP of around $45,000. Probably the best priced fullsize V8 on the market.
