I think both Camelback and Big Two have 2023's on the lot.

That 35% increase to 27 Trillion during 2016-2020 is coming back to haunt us.
But I've been hearing about the sky falling over this for 40 years now - .

The necessary evil ( tax increases ) coupled with massive job growth ( 10+ million this year ) and reducing spending are key the solution.
Somehow those 3 things just can't seem to come about.

Typically these cycles go every 15 years or so, but the last 2 cycles didn't really materialize to the extent that is affecting everyone now. This I believe is why it is a bit of a shock to the system.

I'm old enough to have seen ups and downs come and go - and these issues affecting us today shall pass.

Any ideas on what Toyota apr rates will look like in December? Was hoping to get the current special 3.49 but looks like my truck won’t be here for another couple weeks.

Camelback may have a few but they are still trying to charge 10k over msrp for a basic 4runner. You couldn’t pay me to go there. upload_2022-11-26_11-35-28.jpg

I started selling for Ford in 2006 and a fully loaded King Ranch F-150 was $45,920. You can’t even sniff a XL Supercab for that now. It’s a shame really. When I left the car business the same King Ranch was $65,000 and now it’s over $73,000.

Seeing a tiny bit of softness in pricing in our state. Not a lot of inventory yet. Interesting how the pricing decrease front runs the supply increase.

If Toyota starts building the 4 runner in Baja that will be your sign that the 4 runner will not be long for the world.

Yup bought 5 over last 2 years, no reason to go elsewhere, in and out in less than an hour every time. Worked with Keith and Scot. One guy has bought 13 this year lol. Even my wife enjoys going and she despises dealerships

The 4 runners have always and still are built in Japan, IMO, one of the reasons they are as reliable as they are is that they are and have been built in the same factory in Japan, a lot of Toyota and Lexus uber reliable vehicles are made in this same factory in Japan. The Lexus LS, GS, IS, IS F, GX as well as the Toyota Land Cruiser, Land Cruiser Prado, Vanguard, RAV4, WISH,and 4Runner. They also build engines like the 1GR V6, 3UZ V8, and 1UR.

Move the 4 runner to Mexico and it will probably loose a bit of its shine, it may stick around, but as a shell of its former self. Another sister factory makes the FJ still as well.

Also a lot of the softness would come from the least MPG cars in this time. Can get a deal on a regular tacoma, absolutely cannot even think of one for a corolla.

Tacoma's are priced about $1500 below msrp. This is not a one price dealer so I am assuming you could get it at msrp or under. They used to sell everything a bit over msrp maybe $1k or so. Times are a changing. Anything with the word Hybrid in it has about an 8% markup on it. You will however get jacked at all dealers now on trades. I have been to 3 in the last few weeks they are about 20% less than kbb trade in. They want nothing to do with even great trade ins unless they can steal them.

Me too. Missed the boat on the trade in by a few months, not even worth considering doing it now. Then they turn around and sell them high (or try too)... worse differential than pre-covid but also I think they see a bunch of defaults coming soon.

If you were in the market, trending from want to need as your current car with 222K was beginning to require multiple repairs (some you could manage), would you wait for the market to continue to soften? I think I could get $2,000 now for my car which would be a nice bonus, but isn't required to get into a new truck.
