The Volks will fit just like they fit the tundra now. They aren’t hub centric but most aftermarket wheels aren’t to accommodate fitting more vehicles with similar lug patterns but different hub sizes. Even the current Volks are a 110 center bore and not hub centric to the 3rd gen. They will fit just fine. Now the poke we shall see. Plenty of guys running these on current tundra some with hub rings many without in order to accommodate the center cap. I ain’t worried.

Shouldn’t be unless your set on wheels being hub centric and then you could just run a hub ring or just use the lugs to make it lug centric which many do depending on wheel design and lugs.

    the US for that matter.
What about the lugs/studs being 2 mil bigger? That would be my concern and offset.

You can use the bigger lugs on the Volks instead of an L37 you use L42 same as what the tundra guys are using. Not sure about SCS or any other wheels with different design that require a spline, etc.

Cool. And offset? Track is 3” wider on the 4G.

Yep I am aware, and was my biggest concern. We shall see but apparently the wheel sits more tucked in than before and more than the tundra paired with the bigger flares. I’ll test fit before I mount anything, here’s what it looks like on a tundra with that offset.

Not terrible, but like my wheels tucked in a bit more, run a lot of gravel roads here.

Hence the reason I am waiting to hear back from SCS.

I don't know this is a good place for this. The gen 4 TRD OR will have a composite skid plate in front. Would that also mean that the transfer case's skid plate be composite as well? With no factory upgrades to metal ones like the Gen 3 models.

    Late 90’s.

But I haven’t checked the Tacoma specifically.

The spec descriptions are a bit ambiguous ("composite front skid plate, with underbody transfer case and fuel tank protection"). My interpretation is that everything on the TRD OR is plastic, although perhaps matrix toughened plastic. Could probably upgrade with the TRD Pro aluminum front skid eventually. I assume the aftermarket will provide both steel and aluminum alternatives pretty quickly. Looks like the Pro gets aluminum front but probably plastic elsewhere and the Trailhunter gets steel everything, but that's just how I'm reading it.

Add this to the disappointments of an electronic parking brake and a push button starter. No old school push starting the manual if your battery drains completely, but maybe if the starter fails and you've still got some juice in the battery? Old dogs like me will need to learn new tricks and remember to keep the emergency battery pack in the truck and something to smack the starter with.

If you have enough juice to get the ignition switch to the “ON” position (2 pushes without the clutch depressed), you can pop the clutch to start. So yeah, you need some, but it’s not that much.

"Composite" means similar material as your fender liner. I don't know if it's the same "hairy cardboard" material shown in TFL's video with the Limited.

Based on Chloe Kuo's video of the SEMA measuring session:
The Pro gets an aluminum front skid similar to the TRD skid today, covering the front end and engine.
There's no factory transfer case skid unless you get Trail Hunter, which comes with tinfoil steel front skid and tinfoil steel transmission and T-case skids. They're probably just a millimeter (0.040") thick, as they flex under their own weight when placed on a table.

See the 22:50 mark here regarding the latest Tundra's "composite" skid plate https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_8iAPCmi34

The discussion is comical. If it was such a fantastic material for a skid plate then the upper trims would include it as well.

Looking at overall height the 4th gen in TRD trim looks to be almost 4 inches taller at 74.6 inches? Been trying to gauge next to the 3rd gen comparisons. Almost seems like it’s now the height of a 3rd gen with 3” lift.

Not much smaller than a Tundra.
