Yes, my power steering was growling. (I filled, and burped it, when we got back to Coyote Lake.)

But, this is my first trip up Coyote Lake Trail gate keeper. Coyote has been on my list for a couple years now, since the last time we were there, we had to stop due to a couple broken rigs in our group. (They broke on Red Lake Trail, you have to do Red to even get to the Coyote Gate Keeper).

Each year, the trail is worst than the previous year. Larger rut, more exposed and unstable rocks

I had a great time until I didn’t (still had a blast, not gonna lie)

 

Does anyone know why there is a layer of cardboard inside the shaft?

Whatever I can find in stock. I buggered up an inner tire rod as well. Go me!

I came out with some bent up skids, nice scrapes on my LCAs and a cut Sidewall.



The diff skid is kind of a prototype. I think I can straighten it back out and reinforce it.

From the look of it, had I not had the diff skid, I may have been driving home in front wheel drive too.

 

Shoot me a message if you need to borrow my spare stock Drive shaft (dcsb) for a little bit. I don't carry it these days since I don't do any real wheeling with the drifter on the truck and as of this moment, I'll be passing through stockton tomorrow before noon.

 

Thanks, dude. I actually found one in RC off a 2015 with 60k on it. It's being delivered tomorrow.
