2024 locking gas cap? Or fuel door?

Is there a locking option for 2024 gas cap? Haven’t found one yet that says it’s specifically for a 2024.

Here is the 3rd Gen Locking Gas Cap thread. I have the Stant on the left side of the pictures in post #61. No CEL light in 9 years of use. You may have to experiment to see if any gas caps work on your 4th Gen.

Well it works so far. Likes: key is universal direction so it’s easy to get it right. Dislikes: you have to turn the key clockwise to unlock. Then when you turn the cap counterclockwise, the key tends to rotate back to the lock position. Takes getting used to. My old cap had the key rotation the other way which made it much easier.

 

Make sure you keep that lock cylinder lubed up with some type of WD40 or silicone spray. There’s nothing more aggravating than trying to get the cap off in inclement weather and the key won’t go in or turn.
Also, get a duplicate key and store it in the truck. I had a locking cap on a car years ago, the key fell off my ring at the beach and I had no gas to get home. Luckily, by the grace of God listening to my prayers, I found the key in the dirt parking lot!

 

Can you pull the key out after unlocking?

Does the cap automatically relock without the key when you re-install the cap after fuelling?

 

Key doesn’t pull out when it’s turned in the unlock position. You can only get the key out after turning it’s position to lock.

 

^Thanks. Reviews say the thread size is the same as recent-year 4Runners, which means it's the same as 2009-2023 Tacomas as well. If you want, try MotoRad MGC791; you can remove the key after unlocking, but need to manually lock with the key after re-installation. I've used this on my 4Runner for two years without issues.

I give all lock cylinders a spray of teflon lube before every winter: driver's door, tailgate, tonneau, and fuel cap.
