I remember NASCAR saying they'd throw the caution every 10 laps and then decided to push it which cost Kyle Busch when he had a rear tire blow out after a 12 lap run.

Who’s going to win the race? This is way better than a follow the leader snooze fest. I think that’s why viewership is up it’s been really good racing this year.

Kyle Busch with interesting strategy. Did just enough before the stage break to not lose another lap and then didn't pit and got the wave around. Now he's just riding around until the next pit stop.

It's a bit more wear than I want to see but I'm glad teams are having to manage the wear

Yeah that drop off on the 8 and 11 was pretty sobering at the end of stage1. My wife started taking to me and I had to rewind it to see WTF happened. It was like 2 minutes from 1st to last and spun.

Yeah I could see he had an issue when suddenly his interval to the 11 was getting bigger and bigger when he had the speed to lead before that.

Seems to be a one lane track right now. There's speed to be had up high but everyone is afraid to use their stuff too much.

I wish they'd just let go of thinking they need to apply resin or PJ1 at every track

Hell he probably lapped your favorite driver once or twice. That was impressive. Great race!

Probably the best quote I saw for this race was that it was like getting a prostate exam. You go in sort of excited to see what it is like and after it is over you're like "what the hell? that wasn't cool at all!"

I suppose you've never seen how many times the ER has to remove objects from the rectum. Apparently this guy was excited:

Edit: I guess the word was "interested" and not "excited" but nevertheless...

Yeah- sounded pretty neat on the radio. Reminded me of the races from my childhood. Back then, drivers had to manage tire wear and save a set for a potential late-race run. These newer youngin's grew up with hard radial tires. They don't know anything about tire management. I think it presents a much-needed variable into race strategy.

I'm all for tire wear. But yesterday was a bit excessive.
