It is not lost on me that the loser in the top 2 closest finishes were both Fords. I recall Kurt saying he wished the nose on the Taurus was just a touch longer. I imagine Buescher is thinking the same thing.

Michael McDowell leaving FRM at end of year. Moving to Spire in 2025

I am sure it has something to do with the FRM merger with SHR talks. I have been reading a lot with people saying what a stupid move this is but I am not sure it is. Spire has dumped A LOT of money into it's team. I get that FRM is doing better than ever but in 3-5 years time. I suspect Spire will be a contender. HMS, JGR & RCR all have leadership that is pretty long in the tooth. 5 years from now I doubt any of the founders of those teams will be involved. It seems HMS has the best plan moving forward but these younger teams will be the future. No doubt this was a forced move as I suspect he was losing his seat but I do not think it is as horrible a move as many are making it out to be. With the addition of road courses every year is seems the sport is falling more and more into McDowell's wheelhouse. I think this car and style of racing fits well with Michael's driving style also. He has a ton of seat time. I am sure he came at a bargain price comparable to experienced drivers on the rise. Overall, great move for Spire.

Are you referring to the possible return to Mexico next year? LOL, if so. That is some reporter looking for clicks. No way in hell Mexico detains KB on some handgun charge from over a year ago. Someone will pay some politician to forget that happened. Having a race in Mexico would be huge for Mexico. Detaining KB would not.

Should be a unwritten rule, if you suck, you can't do a legends paint scheme.

 

At least this year we don't have two cars throwing back to the same paint scheme this year.
