2024 NASCAR THREAD

Unless I misread, it looks like JGR's Xfinity program is running four full time cars. Two with full time drivers (18 and 81), and two with part time guys. I'm surprised to see John Hunter returning for 10 races. I would think he'd be fully focused on this first year at Legacy. I saw that too. Kind of seems like too many drivers and not enough seats. That or just plain not enough guys to fill enough races so they have to split it up with more of them.

Can't wait to see what JHN can do in cup as that team evolves!

I think it's wild that only 11 2024 Cup paint schemes have been released so far. This tells me there are a lot of sponsorship agreements unsigned.

They needed an update but idunno. The old one was classic but dated. This keeps with the color scheme, though.

 

The way they have been running they might want to take the name off the cars completely.

 

Am I the only Larson fan in here? He is from Elk Grove CA which is about 15 minutes from me.

Several Rule changes for this year. One interesting one, and one that could possibly change pits stop times a little, is that Xfinity Series Cars and the Camping World Truck Series will use 9 gallon fuel cans instead of the 12 gallon fuel cans. I've known about it a while but it just got officially published in the rule book.
Most of the other changes for now are just a few minor in-race changes and several Vehicle specific changes in all three series. Hopefully the Aero changes will make for better racing.

 

Did they change the size of the fuel cells as well? More stops vs longer stops?

 

Not as of right now. Fuel cells in all 3 main series stay the same.
This is kind of a test run with the possibilty of Cup Series switching Fuel Can sizes in the future.

It's wild how late the sponsor announcements are coming out. We usually see these in October-November. I saw that Trackhouse got Wendy's, which is a good grab.

 

He'll be losing one minor one though. Rowdy Energy is ceasing operations soon.
