I'm guessing something like Trackhouse and RCR have done with a driver from another motorsport coming in for a race.

    Many & varied
There are SO many Silly Season rumors flying around right now. I had a chat with a reporter yesterday and there's a lot of chatter, but as of this week, here is the speculation about 2025:

    1- Chastain
    2- Cindric
3- Dillon likely retiring (number retired)
4- Berry (merge with FRM. SHR splitting, Tony fully divesting from NASCAR)

    5- Larson
    6- Keselowski
    7- Lajoie
8- Busch/Gragson? Busch could cut to part-time, run fulltime Truck season for coveted championship triple, focus on Brexton's career)
    9- Elliott
10- Busch back to Toyota? Charter purchased by 23XI (SHR splitting, Tony fully divesting from NASCAR)
    11- Hamlin
    12- Blaney
14- Preece? (merge with FRM. SHR splitting, Tony fully divesting from NASCAR)
    15- Grala?
    16- SVG (Merge with Trackhouse)

    17- Buescher
19- Truex retiring/ Almirola (wanted a year off, will return, very close to Gibbs family)
    20- Bell
    21- Briscoe (Burton gone)
    22- Logano
    23- Wallace
    24- Byron
    31- ? (Merge with Trackhouse)
    33- Hill (Part-time RCR team)
    34- Custer
36- Herbst (part time FRM team)
    38- Gilliland
41- Charter purchased by LMC (SHR splitting, Tony fully divesting from NASCAR)
    42- Nemechek
    43- Jones
    45- Reddick
47- Stenhouse (team rumored for sale)
    48- Bowman
    51- Haley
    54- Gibbs
    60- Briscoe?
62- Alfredo (part time Beard car)
    71- McDowell
    77- Hocevar
78- McLeod (part time LFM team)
84- Jimmie Johnson (part time LMC car)
    99- Suarez

So the team layout is like this:

    Trackhouse: 1, 16, 31, 99
    Penske: 2, 12, 22
    RCR: 3, 8, 33*
    FRM: 4, 14, 34, 36*, 38

Can't say I've heard any of the Busch rumors. Could always return the 18 back to the track

A few additions to make me feel cool.
He just drives dump trucks now. Kyle is a lot like Dale Sr. In that his entire persona is wrapped up in being successful. Remember in 97 with Dale did not win a race. He lost his edge. Those guys are as good as they are because they make moves on instinct knowing they are better than anyone around them. When they don’t have success they doubt themselves and lose that edge. Kyle has lost his edge. He can get it back but not in the equipment he is in.

Yes and no. RCR has a good intermediate and superspeedway program. But short tracks are a joke. They seem to run decent at road courses too. Bristol would have been a lot better had it not turned into the tire-saving shit show that it was. Hopefully they can test some new stuff at North Wilkesboro this week.

Kyle fading away? I think it was a mistake to go to RCR for him. You’d really think Toyota would have tried to keep him in the family at a place like 23XI. I was a loyal RCR/Earnhardt fan but I don’t feel like they’re competitive enough for a championship anymore. I’ve never been a huge KFB fan, he’s a hell of a driver just never liked his attitude. I do believe him going to RCR is helping that “fade away” part of his career speed up and wish he would’ve gone to a more competitive team…I hate seeing legends go out like Kyle is.

I've actually kind of been impressed with the racing given that it is a fresh repave. But I don't think the soft tires are wearing anywhere near as much as they originally anticipated when they came up with this format.
