NASCAR fines RSJ $75k AFTER they use the fight in numerous social media posts to hype the brand. Classless.

 

In all fairness, most of that is done by NBC and Fox. Their social media department is also not the same as the sanctioning body.

 

Hope it was worth it. I always ask people, "why are you going to do something to get yourself into trouble and allow that other person to be right?"

 

Kyle Busch, Ty Gibbs, and Chase Elliott all in today's Xfinity race? Finally a reason to watch.

 

Boring with Kyle and Gibbs out by like 5 seconds

 

Long race. Ty has been having issues and tire strategy is a thing currently.

 

Never fails that Fox goes to commercials during action.

But at least they were side-by-side... except they didn't bother to show the battle for the lead or the caution as it happened because they were too busy looking out the rear of a much more minor battle. Still better than going side-by-side right after caution pit stops like in cup.

 

Caution with 32 to go and Elliott is the only one with a fresh set of tires left.

About the only chance the field had was to stay out and force Elliott to the rear. Most everyone came and put on scuffs so Elliott maintains great track position.

Weather isn't looking good for Larson and the Indy 500.

Supposedly an hour of rain left according to my brother who is in Indy currently. Larson says the 500 is his priority but HMS feels differently. I imagine NASCAR would probably still grant a playoff waiver.

Jayski reporting that Larson is expected to stay in Indy to run the 500.

 

I listened to an interview earlier with Jeff Gordon and he said that Kyle made a commitment to run the Indy 500 and this was one of the potential costs (missing the Coke 600). He said he would stay and run Indy and miss the 600 if it came down to it.

So does that mean Harvick drives the 5 tonight? I know he was testing and maybe qualifying (?) the 5 last week. I didn't catch the whole story there, but it was VERY interesting to see him sitting there in a Hendrick firesuit bashing SHR. (former SHR employee here)

 

Justin Algier is running the 5

 

Algaier will run the car. Harvick has to be in the booth although it would be pretty cool to have him do play-by-play from the car. Larson will take over as soon as he is able, by the sounds of it. Although I imagine they'll let Algaier continue if he's doing well.
