Seems like passing is at a premium today. No one really has the best car, but if you can get the track position you can hold it pretty easily.

Broken record. But much like the short tracks, grip is too high.

 

Not sure where Busch ran out but I almost have to imagine that he would have just barely made it without the extra fuel burned from getting spun.

 

I saw it on Instagram from Chastain's in car from NASCAR. It was kind of tough to tell but it looked like Chastain probably got into the turn too hot and/or hit the curbing and couldn't turn. Busch was clear on the other side of the corner from him.

MWR set the bar for the destination race shop. It didn't go well.

Denny's early engine detonation yesterday has me wondering if he wants out of JGR and has sponsors willing to back him if he moves to 23XI.

TRD is just having a wierd time with JGR-only cars.

 

Do you remember the X car? NASCAR didn't even allow the media to take a picture of it before it was covered with a tarp, rolled back onto the hauler and JGR was told to never bring it to a sanctioned event ever again.

 

I mean, the 23XI shop is very nice. But I don't think MWR was doing things like specifically angling windows/walls are 23°.

I've wondered that about Hamlin, but I don't think the engine had anything to do with that. I do think it would be cool to see him drive at 23XI but I'm not sure he would. I doubt Gibbs would let him take the 11 and I don't know that I see Hamlin leaving JGR before retirement given his connection to JD Gibbs. Then again, we all said Kyle Busch re-signing was a foregone conclusion at one point and here we are.

 

I actually don't recall this. When was that?

 

Early 2000s. Maybe 2006-2013 era? It was briefly mentioned on Jayski and a few other spots but the news moved on quickly. I remember one snapshot from the right rear quarter panel and it wasn't enough to be able to see what was so illegal about the car. I don't think fines were doled out or anything. The car never made it onto the track.
