I can't say I was exactly wowed when they announced she was going to AM racing and never really understood why some thought it was going to be her big break. It isn't like AM Racing was exactly top tier equipment and she certainly didn't help herself at all either.

Personally, I don't have anything against Bubba. I'm not his fan but I'm not a hater either. The only thing that I think about with him is what reaction I'm going to see/hear whenever his name or likeness comes up. I liked that he raced at KBM. I felt bad for him during the Talladega incident...until more information came out and I realized that it was blown entirely out of proportion on both sides, much like many other things that year. I stopped following his social media around 2020 as he got into more activism. Not because I disagreed but because I didn't want to see it in the first place. People put way too much emphasis on things that don't make as much of a difference in their lives as they think if they just take a step back. Politics is a great example. I don't care what side of the aisle you're on, I don't want to see it. It is one thing I love about TW and why I have stopped going onto Facebook.

Bubba is always going to be controversial and we can argue about why all day. But to me he's just a mid-pack racer who brings in sponsorship and attention to the sport. I don't think he's undeserving of a ride or even the equipment he is in. Like it or not, attention and sponsorship pay the bills as much as track performance does and money talks in this world. If he was bringing up the rear or constantly wrecking (Danica Patrick, Rick Ware Racing, etc.) every week, I'd probably feel different. But I'm too busy focusing on my own driver being unsuccessful for a variety of reasons to focus on someone else who is at least semi-competitive every week.

NASCAR has said they're 100% committed to ICE racing. This is merely a marketing tactic to hook Honda, Mopar, and even Ford to a lesser extent.

Ford no longer puts its logo on its race cars as it distances itself from ICE. The Camaro is dead. If GM doesn't move Cadillac into Cup, they're going to be looking elsewhere for the performance angle.

NASCAR wants to be sure it has a potential net so current manufacturers walk away with their wallets. Toyota, which says it has no interest in EV development, seems to be the only one pumping $ in NASCAR at the moment. I think Toyota is just letting the other brands do all their legwork, and then they'll jump in and improve the product.

Yeah- they wanted to take advantage of a young & upcoming driver who needed additional exposure. Seems like I've heard similar stories within NASCAR

In there Harvick mentions that the manufacturers pushed for this and then kind of backed off, but NASCAR was too far down the road to stop so they finished it.

Ford started putting the Ford logo back on the cars a few weeks ago. I think they stopped initially because the Mustang doesn't typically have a Ford logo anywhere on the body. Ford actually announced 6 new vehicles yesterday, and many of them are ICE vehicles, including reviving the Taurus.

Chevrolet still has the Malibu so I suspect they'll go that direction if their hand is forced. That or the Corvette (which will oddly be much larger than an actual Corvette). At this point they're little more than a body style in the sport.

As Harvick said, NASCAR will likely have to go to turbos and/or hybrids in the future to remain relevant to the manufacturers. I don't necessarily love the idea but I do like the idea of the sport being relevant to manufacturers again since we never truly did "put the stock back in stock car."

He better do something. His contract is up after next season. I bet they're laying the groundwork for a post-Corey driver. I could see Kyle Busch coming in with some ownership as an incentive. Spire is involved in the truck series, which would give Brexton an avenue up the ladder.

Austin Dillon said that "big changes" were coming to RCR this off-season and KB has committed to it. So we'll see what that means. Spire is probably the team I'm most excited about for the future.

Denny didn't win that race. He got caught up in a big wreck after the chase incident.
