2024 NASCAR THREAD

Cup race in Mexico in 2025. Me thinks it might be time to find another sunday afternoon hobby. Racing is just not as exciting as it used to be. Time for some soul searching and ponder my life decisions.

I did work the Races in Montreal and Toronto the years NASCAR went up there. Montreal was a blast. Toronto was ok only because the Track was so far from Toronto. Never got to experience the city.

 

That would be ok. Canada likes us better than Mexico.

 

What did you think of the races in Australia in the 80s, Japan in the 90s, and Canada & Mexico in the 00s?

 

Chevy or RCR seems to be Big Mad that a 21-year old rookie, in his second ever Cup start, for a part-time team (and first for Beard), didn't drop down and push Kyle Busch to victory Saturday night. I can't believe their strategy to get Busch into the playoffs hinged on this scenario.

Idk how much RCR is upset compared to Chevy. I've heard more than once in past years that the manufacturers absolutely don't like when you push other manufacturers when you have your own as an option. This mainly matters at superspeedways. This is why you see the broadcast focus so much on the Chevys, Fords, and Toyotas all in a line or pitting together. They focus more on that than the actual teammates doing so.

 

I appreciate the respect. I still don't quite understand why they didn't just keep going with the 97 though.

Yep. Nascar thinks they "need" him in the playoffs, so they are going to do everything they can to make sure he makes it.

 

I'd agree...whilst 99, Gretzky was gr8, he is number 2 behind number 4 Bobby Orr
