2024 NASCAR THREAD

Snoozer of a race with a great final half hour. The Southern 500 is a slog of a race. Second only to the 600 as far as time to completion. I wanted Briscoe to win as he was the only one who could stick with Larson throughout the night. But with Busch closing in so quickly, I would've been fine with him winning too.

I tell ya', since RCR let Andy Petree go, their performance has really ramped up. a win for AD and three top-5s in a row for KB. I can see KB winning at Atlanta this weekend. He knows how to get around that place.

the HMS B-team car, regardless of number swaps, has always been a stinker. No one since Richmond has consistently pulled the bottom rung car into victory lane.

Schrader, Nemechek, Craven, Lajoie, Nadeau, Dallenbach, Vickers. Some found a win, but no consistency.

Bowman has been better than all of these guys, second only to Richmond in victories (8 vs. 9).

Hendrick is known to flip-flop the pecking order, moving teams between campuses. 48 is the bottom rung, similar to the 21 for Penske.

That was a hard hit for Larson and Briscoe both. Car just snapped and right into the wall. Larson just has the worst luck at Atlanta since the repave.

 

Briscoe needs to find the brake pedal.

 

What a shitty race today.

 

That Joey sure can drive a super speedway. Dude knows where to put the car. It's crazy that Blaney drove that damaged car back up front in the final 50 laps. That Wal Mart banner coming down really changed things. I believe Suarez might've won it. Nice to see him competing for wins. That pit road fire in the 20 box was crazy! Lots of incredible passes. I'm not sure if TV covered the intensity back in the pack.

Put Connor Zilisch on your Radar. He dominated the ARCA Race today. Won with about a 12 second lead.
He dominated last year but fell short after breaking a track bar.

Watkins Glen is a really cool Road Course. Next year this race is back to early Aug. with the Trucks, Xfinity and Cup.

I will.try to get a few pics tomorrow. I was to busy today with all three series and a race.

Yeah that was pretty cool. He beat the best with a respectable move. I love having WGI in the playoffs this season. Just an absolutely chaotic round 2.
