Ya, I dunno...I watch races to see team talent race to win.

I don't view manufacturer tribalism as an attraction to make me wanna watch. Don't think I'll watch the finale next week.

    That said, go Blaney

Oh no. I sure hope the sport can survive! The whole playoff system is BS. Everyone wants drama, you get and and get pissed off when it does not fall your way. You gotta take the good with the bad. If anyone cared about fair we would have crowned a champ under the old system 3 weeks ago.

LOL. The sad part is if the 20 and 23 didn’t do anything. NASCAR would have probably put the 20 in for the blocking the 1 and 3 did. The only thing is they chose to do that without anyone from HMS coming over the radio.

Byron had cheaters, the 3 and the 1

    Bell had cheater, the 23.

Bell rode the wall, Bell had 2 wrongs.

That how nascar will view it anyways.

Well I mean that is the reality of it. HMS and Chevrolet have a lot more fans than JGR and Toyota so I don’t think nascar cares if any of us watch. Everyone wants this sport to be a reality TV show, well this is what you get. Two Penske cars that ran like shit all season. A guy who is fast but makes a lot of mistakes in the 45 and the 24 backing into one but also the force of a power house focused with all its efforts on one car.

No, I mean you funny if you think I'm trying to put a dent in Nascars paint by not watching the finale...I'm simply providing my opinion that this is not an attraction to me. Perhaps peeps wanna see drama....perhaps peeps wanna see M&Ms scattered all over the infield...

    > I < wanna see bumping is racing, you're not trying enough if you're not cheating racing...you know, like those old days that you seemed to frown upon (I agree, Kenseth should not have won his championship.)

I agree with you. I hate this shit. I wish this whole failed chase/playoff bullshit would end. I would be happy to see the points go back to being accumulated over the entire season. I do not consider any driver who won after this crap was introduced an actual champion of the sport.

At this point the regular season winner is a champion and all this crap is just an exhibition.

All of this mess today is just more justification of why this format does not work for actual fans. For people who love drama and for clicks I’m sure it’s lucrative. As far as deciding a champion, you just can’t have a playoff in motor sports. As much as I hate to admit it. Even F1 gets it. Does it make for a boring story line some years. Sure, but that’s motorsports. If you want drama and a WWE type of hype. You do this. At the end of the day it is entertaining but it lacks substance. It’s a cheap high. But our populace seems to like things that lack substance but makes you feel good with little effort or time to earn these days.

Oh well, it was an alright season. The 9 gave it a hell of a shot and his season 25 years ago would have meant something. Now not so much. I’m sure next week will be entertaining but whoever gets the trophy will just be the next in a long line of posers.

Congrats to the 12. He went out and earned it the right way at least. The 20 has no excuse. Had a massive cushion coming in here. The 45 deserves the shot but ruined others season to get there. And as always, fuck the 22. Dudes as fake as his hair. He deserves nothing. The 24 deserves the chance. Got screwed by the 12 in this race when the 16 got punted into him. At least HMS brought cars to play.

This final 4 is actually a problem. NASCAR has been really lucky in past years that the top performers make it to phoenix. This year, not so much. The 5 not making it is a massive problem.
Think of the cars with pure speed this season. 5, 11, 20. None of them are in it. Look at how consistent the 9 was. Didn’t make it. HMS had 4 cars in the final 8 (for a moment anyway). And somehow ends up with 1 getting into the final 4 and that’s on a controversial call. Not a great look. Look at the 22’s stats this season.
