xtracabs are hard to get, esp the sr5 ones - SRs I've seen around. The pathfinder way back when was one of the most unsafe vehicles for front seat passenger injuries. I'd believe it if the Frontier was not great.

towing with a lift... I'd regularly tow a 6" wood chipper with my gen 2 6MT those were just shy of the taco's rated tow capacity (around 6600 iirc) - the rental place wouldn't let me toe an 8" one - to heavy.

I think the new engine will do fine , it may be a little finicky when the miles pour on but it will depend on people and maintenance. Now more than ever . If I ever own 4 th Gen
4 k miles on the oil is how I will roll. . No matter what any one says , turbos and clean oil are a must

There's an engine. I guess you 4th gen guys don't know much about "bro lean". Towing capacity on 2nd gen v6 is 6500lbs and I'm still shy a few lbs.

NO... you should not try this with a 4th gen unless you want your trans to sh!t the bed.

Mouth breathers come in flocks. Must be a migration of dodo birds flying through.

not sure why you feel the need to post a derogatory remark?

I was thinking it’s a short distance from storage to the boat ramp.

Don’t care about research, I worked on motors my whole life . There’s my research , no disrespect, but if I spend 50 k on a truck I will maintain the hell out of it . Now if that’s not agreeable with some people it’s ok . My things ,my money , my way .

You are 100% correct. Clean oil is uber important to both the turbo and to high compression engines in general.
Research? It's obviously a known fact... anyone that doesn't know how this works should start by reading Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. I think the guy you're replying to is just real grumpy...

What’s the compression ratio on the 2024+ and how does it compare to the 2016-2023 compression ratio?

The 3.5 v6 had 11.8 and the new turbo 4 has 11.0, but that turbo is certainly increasing the cylinder pressure.
