Managed to find one without a long list of port or dealer-installed accessories that I didn't want at a good discount from a no-haggle dealership! I used their price to negotiate a slightly lower price from a different dealership for a similar truck, but ultimately decided that saving $500 wasn't worth living with white interior trim and the hassle of removing and selling the ARB sports bar. Plus, it was refreshing to go through the purchase process without the endless parade of four square diagram upsells...

For a while, 3% was looking like the standard. It’s looking like 7%+ may be possible all the time if you’re willing to put the work in.

Not included here is my extended warranty for $4k, purchased separately.

Zero chance of price negotiation on trailhunter models in Canada. But maybe on gas job tacomas yes. Hybrids are few and far between.

I would agree. I like the way the OP stated to put in ALL the details. Easy to say you got X% off MSRP but when there is a trade and financing then all the funny business starts. I mean dealers aren't going to lose money and a simple 12% off deal they are actually losing money unless they are a HUGE dealer. Loves love to brag about their huge % off but then forget the whacking they take on their trade in etc.

The only other line that they should add is "put in your vin and what would Carvana have given you for the trade" to then at least have a barometer on the trade value.

MSRP threads are like MPG threads.

    Tacoma Price Info:
    1. Year, trim, color, transmission, bed=2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off road Double Cab Long Bed 4WD

    3. Options
    4. Cost of dealer add ons- (tint, floor mats, nitrogen, etc)=$4444
    5. Price before Tax Title License (TTL) including incentive/rebate=$45161
    6. Discount 1-(#5/#2)*100=% off MSRP)=5.2%
    7. Incentive (rebate/customer cash)=$0
    8. Price Out The Door (OTD)=$49500
    9. Trade in vehicle(year, make, model, trim)=2022 Tundra Limited TRD Off Road 5.5ft Bed 2WD with 25,000 miles and a MSRP of $55600
    10. Kelley blue book trade-in value=$41700
    11. Trade allowance(amount given for trade)=$41000
    12. Date purchased=10/02/2024
    13. State purchased=SoCal
I negotiated the OTD price down to $48500 and then mentioned my trade in and they would not give me the KBB value of $41700. Once I provided the KBB appraisal then they began to negotiate again and gave me $41000 for the Tundra. Still a huge hit but with the looming engine recall I did not want to wait any longer and take the risk of being without a reliable vehicle as the winter approaches. Many Trips to Mammoth.

Been keeping my eyes peeled for Sport/Premium/Underground for a few months now, and came across this deal in transit via Toyota Smartpath. Didn't haggle price any further, and they came in close enough to KBB on first offer. So certainly not the most amazing deal in this thread, but it was a super simple process, just the way I like it (so far anyway, I don't have the truck yet).

I'm honestly surprised to see the MSRP differences between Canada and the US on these trucks.
