hello everyone! I am considering a 2024 Sport TRD with Softex, stickering in the $53-54k range. Local dealers have similar ones advertised at $49.5-50.6k after current discounts and incentives but before any further negotiation. Is 48.8k a realistic target?

yeah probably, especially if you can find a couple dealers to play off each other.

Good price when you do not even have to work for it. Offer them a price with another $2k off and see if they will meet you half way.

Traded in 2016 TRD Sport with 138k miles on it for a 24 TRD Sport.
Trade in value was $23,500; dealer cost on 24 was 56k out the door.

Anyone using the secret discount code that comes with your truck yet?
Tried it a couple times so far through the app and it works pretty well.

I negotiated the purchase of a 2024 TRD Sport in Bronze Oxide that I think is a fair deal. Original price at dealer was $54,487 and we agreed to a sale at $49.0k with the trade of my 2020 Acura MDX Advance at $25.5k (KBB suggests 23.5k and Carmax 26k). Overall it is almost a 10% discount and I am happy with the trade value as my car is going to need tires and brakes all around in the next year or less, and I know dealers lowball the heck out of trade ins so I thought this overall was a very fair deal for me.

that seems like either insanely good trade-in value, or they played the numbers game and barely gave you anything off MSRP. was your trade-in dead mint?

It was in good shape and I had a Carmax estimate for $26k that they said they match. I guess the deal isn't completely done yet as I haven't presented them my financing check nor picked up the truck so always a chance they try to renege. I'll get a pic of the window sticker when I pick it up tomorrow.

nice, that's great. my carmax offer and trade-in value for the same year/model with 130k were both significantly lower (and carmax was lower than trade-in), so i guess those 2 fender benders i had really affected the value. it also needs 4 new tires.

Seems unlikely especially if you already have the numbers in an email. Great job!

Yup. 5-10% off seems to be an obtainable target without dealer add ons.

Window sticker was in fact $54487. The stuff I thought was dealer added was factory options, namely mud guards, all weather mats, edge guard, cast AL running boards, black badging and a tailgate insert. And they did give me the 25.5k for the trade so I am pretty satisfied with the deal.

I did end up agreeing to an extended warranty for $1650, which is prob overpriced by $500 or so but I'm ok with that.

Dealer stuck me with $1,999 for Hood film and another $1,999 for cilajet coating.

those are all useful/desireable port options. dealer options are all just silly bullshit.

Just picked her up last week. Had to haul down to Virginia for it, Toyota doesn't send Manual Transmissions to CT.

That’s the first time I’ve seen the moonroof as a stand-alone option.

I don’t have specifics in front of me, but I got to comment on what dealers will do to make a buck. I got what I think was a pretty good trade allowance for my ‘17 Off Road. But it is more or less pristine. Almost new tires, mostly highway, not a scratch. Anyway after some back and forth the fairly decent sales guy comes with their offer and it includes the always present documentation fee, which no one can seem to define, but then, $295 for tire nitrogen. So I told the sales guy, immediately remove the $500 doc fee, and lets talk about the nitrogen. So as I watched his face in agony , I explained……since N2 is 80% of the atmosphere, you are gonna replace 20% of my tires air? And how pure is your shops’ N2? I said I doubt its lab grade so maybe 95-97% pure, so less than 20% per tire for $75? And then I asked him what exactly would the N2 do for me? Then he was visibly embarrassed and explained, its something ‘they’ started doing. A lot of people just go with it. So I said Ok, we both got our yucks, so that $295 sounds like at least a $2000 discount for trying to screw me by treating me like an idiot.. After a bunch of back and forth, and their sales manager finagling with this charge and that, it seems I got about $27500 for the trade, and after they played their games, no doc fee, no nitrogen, and about $1500 off the list of $54 and change. Way more than I wanted to pay, but I am at the point I liked the truck, they did not have anything close in stock. Underground Sport with the $8 k package and 6’ bed
