That's a relativity early build with the VIN number ending in x13711. There is a TSB for Manual transmissions through x28040.

For reference, the Solar Octane I just purchased is ~x55000. I wanted a later model production if I was going for a first-year truck. May be non-sensical - hoping for good Kaizen ju ju.

Perfect! That's kinda what I was wondering, I should have checked the full TSB's a bit more. I'm probably going to just keep driving my Bronco until later in 2025 and get an end of year deal or just roll the dice and hope the Ford keeps running decently. So far, knock on wood, no major issues.

I would like to see your sales sheet.

The window sticker would also be great. :D

I am getting a check to refund the dumb spray they put on because the person that did that even though I didn’t want it oversprayed onto the windows. I’ll post my sales sticker tomorrow. The hype is over; they have like 15 non-hybrids on the lot and like 7 hybrids just sitting there. They have the non-hybrids 5k below MSRP. People are nervous to buy them and especially for the sticker price. I was waiting for this to happen with how I thought they were too expensive to really sell and with all the transmission issues scaring off buyers.

Amazing. My local dealers couldn't keep them on the lot pre thanksgiving so they're weren't willing to move nearly that much. I had one salesman pull up a fully tricked out hybrid b/c I asked for a truck on the lot with a trailer brake controller. I was sitting in the driver's seat and my wife opened the passenger door and said "Honey, this truck is $63,000!". I looked at the salesman and said "Nice try! Where are the affordable ones?"

Of course, it's all relative. I got the truck I wanted, when I wanted it and without having to drive 4 hours away for a price I'm comfy with.

I forgot the heated seats haha.
If you got it when you wanted and the price you wanted that’s perfect. I bet a month or more away it will be cheaper than what I paid and at a better interest rate to move them

Thank you. That’s the strangest truck config I’ve ever seen and the reason I wanted to see the window sticker.

They simply don’t order Tacoma’s with one or two options around here.

    Thanks again.

That's an interesting point. I did a quick sort and histogram of a KMG database (2024 Tacomas only) by the number of options. This was from 10-25-24, back when they were still actively building 2024's. There were 19,426 in the database that day.

Here's the histogram (binned by # trucks with a given number of options (blue) and same bins as a percent of the total (orange). Yep, 3 or fewer options represents about 2.4% of the total tacomas built.
Ignore the zero (those trucks had no entry and every truck has at least the 50 state emission option). About 60% have between 6 and 10 options, and about 9% have 13 or more options. Of course, this doesn't include any stuff added by the dealer itself (usually at least a few more).

My dealer did the same thing, so I financed it and 3 weeks later paid it off, LOL. Got my Bronze Oxide TRD Sport for $36,800 OTD.

So you were both planning to pay cash and told them you planned to pay cash but they insisted you finance as part of the total deal?

I ask because I plan to pay cash, and if they "require" financing in order to get the OTD price to satisfy all parties (and assuming the loan has no prepayment penalty written in), the dealer will ultimately lose if you do pay the loan off right away because they will be hit with a charge-back (i.e. the sales part of the business has to pay back any profit they made due to financing, because paying it off early nullified that revenue stream).

Now you may say, so what, but car dealerships are very petty, and if you plan to use that same dealer for service, they're going to remember--probably have you flagged in their records--that from their perspective you "cheated" them.

In light of that, I guess I would feel obligated to tell them, look, I am going to pay this off right away, and if you still want to structure the deal this way, knowing that, I'm fine. That way they'd have no basis to claim I cheated them.
    Any thoughts?

    You're over thinking this.
The truck and the financing all fall under the Toyota umbrella. Unless you know something you’re not sharing with us, the relationship between the dealer and Toyota Motor Credit is well understood by both parties. To this point, I think when a buyer says he's doing a cash-n-carry and the dealer wants a finance component to the purchase price it's implied an early loan payoff is highly probable.

now if was me …..I’d probably take some debt for the 4% rate.
